"Alright, guys, complete pages 103-109 please. Anything you don't finish is homework" Mrs Jones said.
"Urgh, there's no chance of me finishing this all in an hour" I mumbled.
"Why don't we work together?" Luke asked. I nodded and we got to work. "I really enjoyed dinner the other night by the way"
"Thanks, me too. Sorry about my dad though"
"It's fine. I understand why he would think we're together. We're pretty couple-like"
"You think?"
"Yeah, I guess. I mean we've kissed three times now and we do couple-like things that's all"
"I guess" I said. "So, you want to take me out to dinner then?" I asked him, raising my eyebrows.
"I knew this was coming" He said, rolling his eyes. "But maybe one day I'll take you out"
"Is this you asking me on a date?"
"God, no. Not at all" He paused, looking at me. "Not that I wouldn't go on a date with you but ugh, I'm mean, I'm just going to stop talking"
"Don't worry, I get it"
"We should get on with our work" I agreed and we started working on the algebra and trigonometry work.

"Brooke cancelled on me for Charlotte yesterday" Maya told me and rolled her eyes as she grabbed her lunch from her locker. I did the same and grabbed my lunch and the books I needed for the last two lessons.
"Urgh, just ignore her. She obviously doesn't care for us anymore"
"I know"
"I'm sorry though. I know I'm the reason we're not friends with her anymore"
"Yeah but she should've had more trust in you. We were making a big deal out of nothing, I just realised it. She didn't"
"Hey, Mads" I heard Luke's voice say as an arm wrapped around my waist, turning me to face him.
"Oh, hey" I smiled at him. "You're calling me Mads now then?"
"Oh, yeah, sorry, if you don't want me to I won't. i just-"
"Luke, it's fine. I don't mind" He relaxed a bit and let go of my waist. "Anyway, lets go eat. I'm starving"
"Come sit with us" Luke said and I nodded.
"I'm just gonna go sit-" Maya started but Luke cut her off.
"Come on" Luke said and grabbed her arm, taking us in the direction of the cafeteria.
"Thanks for letting me sit with you" She said as we walked to the table.
"It's nothing" Luke shrugged and we sat down with Michael and Calum.
"Hey, Maddie" Calum and Michael said.
"Hi, guys"
"Maya's sitting with us if you don't mind" Luke told them and they just nodded as we started eating.
"So, what's up with the queen bitch?" Michael asked and Maya and I both looked at him confused.
"He means Brooke. Michael and her have never got on"
"She shouldn't have said that shit about my family. Say what you want about me but do not bring my family into it" Michael told us.
"She can be a bitch and a half when she wants to" Maya said and I agreed.
"So, do you wanna hang out later?" Luke asked once Michael, Maya and Calum had started a deep discussion on Michael's hair and what colour he should dye it next.
"I wish I could but I have to look after my stupid cousin"
"Oh, OK. How old are they?"
"Amelia's eight and a spoiled, annoying, little brat"
"I see. Want me to come over and help?"
"Yeah, that'd be good. You'll help me not kill her" He laughed slightly. "Plus, we need to finish that maths work so you can help me"
"Sounds good. We can order pizza or something"
"My cousin won't eat pizza. She's on a no carbs diet"
"She's eight"
"And stupid. We've been over this" He rolled his eyes as I smirked at him before eating the rest of my lunch.
