THE JOURNEY

Once all the excitement had died down, Keo just about to leave the Deptford Wharf, Earl was happy and had the key around his neck - while the specialists doubt with the wreck, they had lifted the chest up with Keo told Earl about. It was on shore in a large metal green container alone with other valuables from the wreck site. Guarded by two wharf side security guards in a portable two man caravan which had been dropped there. Checked his phone it was getting onto seven o'clock in the evening. He noticed a text from Jennifer asking, 'When ya down next baby - you wanna hookup for a drink. XX' Smiling over the text he put his phone away. Gathered his belongings he said, "See ya later Earl, thanks for hookup and good luck with your new found fortune." Earl nodded and replied, "No thank you Keo, you've helped us we be forever indebted to your kindness. How can we repay you?" Keo felt happy as he replied, "It's fine Earl - I got all I needed. Which is the experience of lifetime. You take care now." Passing his lockup keys back to him. Earl said, "Thanks you again. See ya soon." Keo nodded and walked away to his bike and set off to find a Bed and breakfast. Carl watched from the shoreline as Keo set of on his bike, Carl looked around the wharf no one was about, just a black parked car which had parkedto up at least four toup five hours ago, so it was quite quiet Carl made his to Earl's moored up tug boat. The rope ladder was still down, checking his side arm he then put back in his holdall. Making his way up the ladder, it rocked side to side. Once his head was able to peep over the deck rails he did so carefully. Not seeing any danger he step onto the upper deck, Earl was downstairs making himself a brew. Carl quietly step alone the deck, not knowing of Earl's whereabouts he didn't want to startled him before he was ready to make his move. Checking the upper deck, their was no sign of Earl. So Carl double back to the rocking chair which was next the stairs which lead to lower deck. Earl's back was to the stairs his brew in hand watching his own fire, the flames jumped about, a creak came from the top of stairs as Carl placed a foot down to seek down to confront Earl over a certain key he was handed early today. Another creak was made as he decent the stairway, pulling out his silenced 9mm handgun aim towards Earl, who was started to face his stairs. Carl paused aiming his iron sight barrel at Earl's head, Carl said in a clear voice, "Don't move, I don't wanna shot you." Earl kept turning and said nervously, "Don't shot - I'm unarmed." Carl raised his voice, "Stopping moving - I only want the key." Earl paused in his movement and said still in a nervous tone, "I don't know what you mean?" Carl answered, "The key from the Red Dragon your son discovery, I want it now, hand it over your right shoulder. If you face me I will shot you." Earl switched his cup over into his left hand and fumbled for the key around his neck slipping the rope over his neck with key in hand he slowly raised the key over his shoulder where he sadly said, "Here you are take it." Edging forward Carl reached his free hand out in front to was the key, the deck floor board creaked right behind Earl where he then quickly tossed the boiling hot brew over his left shoulder - "Arrghh!" Carl yelled as he yelled Earl tires to move out the way and reach his fire poker. Carl's finger twitched and his gun fired a single shot into Earl's lower back, following to his knees and then to his side, Carl was trying to cool his face down from the hot tea, moving to the mini bathroom and running the cold tap on the sink and splashing his face with water. Earl was crawling slowly towards the fore poker, he gripped it and pulled it to his side as he just laid there for Carl's next attack. Once Carl finished cooling his face he walked over to Earl's lifeless body angrily where he knelt down to roll him over to his front. As he did so Earl bought the fire poker round and dig it into his neck and pulled it out again - the metal five inch spike pieced deep Carl quickly rolled to the floor with his hand over the hole where he started to chock on his blood. Earl still alive he started to crawl to his bed where his phone was and he manage to dail nine, nine, nine where he said in scared manner, "Help me quick, I've been shot. Deptford Wharf on the Red Dragons" Earl heard a voice saying, "Sir sir, you still there?" Earl replied quietly, "Please...." Then he passed out.
