I stand there in front of my house, my brain working at its hardest.

“… How am I going to bring the cat into the house!” I cried, plopping down on the doorstep. The cat  jumps out of my grasp and sat next to me, purring loudly.

This is impossible. I know I’m smart, but not smart enough to smuggle a cat in!

“Sneak what into the house?” A muffle comes from behind the door.

I snap out of it. I then start to hear near silent footsteps. Oh no shes coming! Oh no no no no ! I scan the area quickly and pick up the cat in a rush. I glance around the, not so pretty garden, again and spot a nearby bush. I rush towards the bush and place him near it.

His ears twitch as he observes me. As if he understands the situation he trots into the bush, disappearing from sight.

“Just wait there for a moment okay?” I whisper.

I rush back to the steps and put on the best nothing-is-wrong smile I could. Soon after I hear the door open, and before me was my mum.

“Hello mother~” I sing, pushing her back in.

“…Huh? Well okay. Well sweetie…” she pauses and gives me a curious look, “ When you’re done come back inside okay?”

I grin at her, fluttering my eyelids like a bird would flutter its wings. I see her in the doorway, scratching her head with her hands.

“Darling. Please never, ever do that again.” She sighs loudly, swishing her head from side to side.

Then with that she strides to the kitchen, out of sight. I don’t know what I did wrong there. Maybe I acted to suspicious? Nope, I'm awesome at this. She doesn’t suspect anything!

I turn around and I look to the bush, then spot the cat toddle out. He was covered in leaves. I crouch down then he automatically trots over to me. I then pick him up swiftly.

Now on to more pressing matters. How am I going to get him into the house, without my no-animals-allowed mum knowing? I have 3 options that my little head can think of.

1) Bring a box and put him in.

No no and no. Too mean and suspicious. But mainly mean.

2) Act like a ninja smuggling a jewel.

Although that technically isn't an idea.

3) Wait for her not to be at home, and then walk in. As for the rest, use my own money to look after him. Then I’ll think of a name. Let’s just hope my bad naming sense won’t ruin anything.

Ding ding ding! We have a winner~

Now, time to put the plan in action! Hopefully it will work.

I get up, and then crouch to the cat’s level, looking into his eyes.

"Now, ummm. Let’s call you Rizka for now. Sounds girly but still. Anyway, you wait over near the fence and I’ll go and start the plan off. Alrighty?"

As if he understood, Rizka slowly moves his head up and down. Then prowls away to the fence.

I begin to stand back up, and then open the oak doors behind me.

"Hey mum~" I call, walking into the kitchen.

I spot her chopping away at Tomatoes. Except instead of cut, they were basically smashed. Ouch.

"Yes my young child~" My mum responds, turning her head then showing me the biggest smile ever. Yet, I sense something dangerous.

"When the next time you’re going out?" I ask rather bluntly.

Her eyes twitch, turning around fully now she adds,

"Now of course. But before that, I believe you brought my shopping home? Because I just remembered why I sent you out~"

. . . . .

Crap.
