It's my birthday today and I am not in the greatest mood. I had woken up to everyone screaming the "Birthday Song" and it was incredibly annoying. I knew it was going to happen, as it did every year, but opening my eyes to Emmet's large face ½ inch away from my face still got to me. Also, you could still see the bruise I had gotten 6 days ago from falling on my face! And here I thought half vampires healed quickly.

My sister was enraged with my grumbling, mad that I was ruining her special day. I knew she was right, I shouldn't complain on my birthday, but I couldn't help it! I was just so exceedingly mad today that nothing could cheer me up.

Maybe it had to do with the fact Jacob wasn't here to celebrate...

So here I am, moping on the couch, glaring at the window, feeling bad about myself. My dad keeps frowning at my lack of gratitude, and my mom just started ignoring me, focusing on Nessie. Not that I cared, or anything.

"Lily, please stop. You're bumming me out." Seth pleaded with after a few minutes. Ness glared at me, it was almost as bad as Rosalie's glare, but Rose still won. "No! I can do what I want. I don't care about you!"I snapped. My sister stood up. "Don't you talk to him like that! Don't you dare! If you are in such a bad mood, why don't you leave!" She snarled. I stood up too, glaring at her with all my might. "Fine, I will!" I growled, stomping out the front door.

I leaned against a tree where I could still hear them. Seth's sigh of relief got me so enraged that I started to run. Half vampires were decently fast, so I got pretty far when I stopped, 30 minutes later. I got my breath back and I looked up. I was at the Canadian Border

Why did I do that? Why did I get so mad? Why was I so horrible as to treat my sister the way I did? I was an awful person. Seeing Seth and Nessie so in love just set me off. I wanted Jacob. At first I was okay with not seeing him, but after that bonfire I wanted him to be with me every single second he could. The pain in my chest was almost too much. I was starting to get worried.

I puffed out my cheeks and sighed. Today was the worst birthday ever. Maybe next year will be better.

"Well, well, what do we have here?" A husky voice whispered behind me. I gasped and whirled around. Standing there was a tall man. He had blonde hair that whipped around his head like it had a mind of its own, and skin so pale that it looked ghostly. He stood around 6'3. His face was so beautiful I almost fell to my knees. He sparkled in the sun like a god, or maybe an angel. He was wearing a black leather jacket, undone, and dark wash jeans. He had no shoes or shirt. He was perfect. But the only thing that kept me from introducing myself was his eyes, his crimson red eyes. He was a vampire, and he didn't look like a vegetarian.

I just kept staring at him. Maybe he would think I was a vampire, and just stopped to have a conversation. Maybe he wouldn't hurt me. Or maybe he thought I was human, and stopped to have a snack. Maybe he would hurt me.

He sniffed the air, taking his sweet time. Once he was done, he smiled at me. It was too pleasant, too friendly. I knew he didn't mean well. "What's your name?" He asked in such a kind voice that I almost smiled. Almost. I never took my eyes off of him.

"Why should I tell you?" I snapped. The fire in me was blasting, I started to sweat. "Hmmm, you're feisty. Just the flavour I like." He said so quiet it sounded like he was whispering, but I could hear him. "Flavour? Like food? That's odd. It's sounds like you're going to eat me. But, you're not a cannibal. Are you?" I decided to act innocent, maybe I could win him over. Like that's gonna happen.

He smiled again, he knew I was lying, He knew I wasn't telling the truth. Stop that! I told myself, thinking like that will guarantee my death

"In a way, yes I am." He spoke gently, like he was hoping I wouldn't run. We stared at each other for 5 minutes, the only sound is me breathing heavily. Then he grins. "I'll give you to count of 100. Go" He whispered, and I was off like a rocket.

How do you kill a vampire? You rip them apart. You rip them apart and burn the pieces. How am I going to rip him apart? I can't. So, I guess I'll focus on the fire. How do I make a fire in less than 50 seconds?

I need a match! But where do I find one? Maybe there was a gas station around here. With that thought I ran to the highway, which I can hear by the noise of traffic.

I heard a woosh sound, and knew that my attacker stopped counting. He started running. My breathing increased and I started running faster. I've gone into panic mode.

I need to start a fire! But, how?

Run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run

Fire fire fire fire fire fire fire fire fire fire fire fire fire fire fire fire fire fire

Fire fire fire fire fire fire fire fire fire fire fire fire fire fire fire fire fire fire

Run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run

Fire fire fire fire fire fire fire fire fire fire fire fire fire fire fire fire fire fire

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" My scream bounced everywhere. All I could see were flames! Was I bitten? No, it would've hurt. I looked down on myself and saw more flames. The air was heating up. I started flailing around bumping into trees, I didn't care about the vampire. I just had to get whatever this was off of me. That's when my mind figured out what was happening. I was on fire!

The vampire moved within my peripheral vision and all I knew was that I was angry. I leaped in a fit of anger and strength, and ripped off his head. I hugged him close to me and he burned up until he was nothing but ash. I felt like a load has been lifted off my chest, and my vision cleared. It felt way cooler as I looked around. The whole forest was on fire. I blinked, I caused that. But, how?

I turned and saw a pair of red eyes looking straight at me. The person turned and vanished.

"That was amazing!" I heard a voice and turned around. Seth was staring at me with a huge grin on his face. "Here, you can have my shirt." He took off his shirt and handed it to me. I looked down at myself and saw that I was naked. Oh great. My face was tomato red when I put his shirt on.

As we were walking, I came to realization. I almost died. I was running away from a vampire killer and the caught on fire. Oh my. I sighed and looked at Seth.

Then, I fainted.
