11 - Reaching

They had been doing well these days, I couldn't believe that they actually be friend with each other. Sometimes. Anyway life was getting better and I still missed my dad.

My feeling toward Chanyeol was growing every second and I couldn't deny anymore. My heart was going to collapse every time he get too near to me or cuddle me. So I feel like I was getting a heart attack eveyday.

I think I am getting to know Kai now, not just all those 'bad boy' image he gave everyone. He can be quiet and shy at times, and talking all the way with his eyes. I think was mesmerized by his eyes and he somethimes caught he staring which was awkward.

Summer is passing so fast that one day in the morning you would feel the cold breeze of the autumn wind. At the moment we were at the cafe working late. After the last custumer left the cafe, Kai pulled me to the staff room and shut the door. "Will you go the the Autumn Fest.?" he asked leaning to the door. "You mean the prom at the end of the month?" I confirmed staring at his eyes again. "Yes..." he nodded looking away, "I guess I'm comin..."

I was going to answer but Chanyeol broke in pushing Kai away, almost falling to the gorund.

"Come on, you guys gonna leave all those work for me?!" Chanyeol said crossing his arms. Kai raged up and said, "we were talking and it's private."

"It's working time, so no private stuffs." Chanyeol retorted, "we almost finished and you banged in without knocking." Kai refute again.

Gosh, this is happening again. "Guys, stop!" I shouted to overcome their voice. "Thought you said you'll stay peace." I reminded the promise they've made so they just nodded obediently.

"What are you guys talking about just now?" Chanyeol skipped next to us while tidying the cafe. "Nothing." "Prom." we answered in sync but telling the truth made Kai rolling his eyes. 'What?' I mouthed at him, he just sighed.

"What prom?" "It's Autumn Festival we have annually, it's a prom actually." I explained simply. Chanyeol raised his hand, "Question!" "Yup?" "So we beed to find a partner?"

I nodded while rubbing the towel on the table, "Yup, if you are going. It's optional." "Can I invite you?" Chanyeol offered immediately, but Kai cut in, "I was going to invite her." And they stared with that intense imaginary laser beaming towards eachother. "Wow, I was invited by two guys, it's a miracle." I said like it doesn't matter and I added, "I haven't even said that I will go."

"Wait, what?!" Kai exclaimed, "I thought you said you you'll come?" "I said 'I guess'." I debated and tossed the towel to its own place. "Com'on Minah, you should go, you never go to one, right Kai?" Chanyeol try to convince me.

"How do you know I've never went to one?" I said raising an eyebrow, being unhappy with his saying. "It was all written on your face!" They said laughing together.

Great, now they stand on the same line. "Go change up, we're leaving." I ignored their comment and went into the staff changing room.

After that we slipt our walk home. Kai is going different directions everyday, which made me little worries. But I believe him that he's strong enough to protect himself.

"Minah, you really aren't going?" he asked again. "I don't know..." I answered simply. "Why? You should go." I looked at the only star on the sky.

I wish I am on it and the prince would save me. But I know. That the star is too far to reach. There's too much to think of, Chanyeol.

"Chanyeol, you see that lonely star there?" He looked up at my direction. "No on-" "It's not lonely" Chanyeol stopped me, "there are much more stars than you think with it. You just can't see."

We walked quietly as I think deeply about what Chanyeol said. Maybe I just can't see while they are just next to me.

Chanyeol's hand swept pass mine as we walk and the touching made my heart skip a beat.

Maybe I should reach out for the star.

I stopped walking which made Chanyeol stop too. I balled my hands in a fist and deeply inhaled to calm my vigorous heartbeat.

That moment.

I pulled Chanyeol to me and kissed him.

It was brief and deep and shocking, like I could feel the shape of his teeth behind those thick lips. And till now the dizzyness and the warmth of his lips is still on me.

We were not looking or talking or even breathing as we wake home. All I can do is regret myself for my sudden move. And now he isn't paying attention on me at all after we get home.

He closed himself in my dad's room, leaving me outside. I knocked on the door and slipped papers through the crack under the door, but none of them were taken. I feel like being locked outside instead.

Is it a mistake? Or he doesn't like me? I should've think about the consequences. I should've think twice.

The whole night I couldn't get to sleep. But my mind is full of messy thoughts and worries. Whenever I thought those things stop running circles in my mind and theu would rewind again.

It's two o'clock, the next day already when I check the clock. My eyes were tired and I feel sorry for not letting them rest. I went out soundlessly to get a cup of water until I heard a voice.

"Please, it's an accident... I won't let it happen again."

"..."

"I will not break the rules again, just let me stay with her."

"..."

"Thank you sir."

"..."

"Yes."

Chanyeol was talking to someone on the phone. And I don't even know that he have one. I heard him sigh and dropped his body to the sofa.

"Just give me some more time." he mumbled.

Damn me for not posting so long. School started and the homeworks came piles by piles. Sorry guys. Please forgive me! I promise the next few chapters will be exciting and thriling. Love you guys~
