CHAPTER FIVE - "RETURN OF THE CAVEMAN" (PART ONE)

100,000 YEARS AGO (PLEISTOCENE ERA)

A young Koda was in his tribes cave, drawing petroglyphs on the cave walls. Suddenly his chisel hit something and started to glow a bright blue. Intrigued by this unusual object, koda knocked it off the wall and it fell in his hand.
As he checked it out, his caveman hearing caught the sound of an animal growling. He picked up his hunting spear and went to check it out.

Outside the cave, a young boy holding a torch was looking over the edge. As he checked it out, he heard a sudden growl behind him.
He turned around and was confronted by a sabretooth tiger, ready to attack.

"KODA!! KODA!!" the young boy yelled out, this young boy turned out to be Koda's younger brother. Koda quickly climbed the wall, as he called out "taku." Koda tackled the sabretooth tiger, making them both fall over the edge, as taku yelled "Koda."

Whilst koda yelled out taku and kept falling, the gem in his hand started to glow. The gem surged with his body, like something was bonding with him.

Koda awoke from his dream, breathing rapidly. He quickly got up and grabbed a long stick, as he heard the sound of what he thought was a predator.
As Koda walked backwards out of the cave, a loud revving made him turn around and ready to attack, but saw the whole team with Kendall standing around Kendall's new invention.

"Sorry, we didn't know you were sleeping" Kendall apologized, trying to calm Koda. "Kendall...." Shelby began, but Kendall gave her a look. "Miss Morgan was just showing us Dino Cycle."

Koda gazed at the Dino Cycle with fear in his eyes, as Chase said "come on over. Take a squiz"

"A squiz??" The team said, but Amelia didn't because she known what it meant. "you know, a look?" Amelia said as she tried explaining it to the team.

"Sometimes, I wonder If we are even speaking English" chase said to Amelia as they are both from new Zealand.

"Me two" Amelia jokingly said.

"Take a look koda, it's got everything from laser blasters to energy scanner's" chase explained to koda.

Chase added on "And plus, I look really good on it" then he revved up the bike. Koda immediately sensed danger and attacked the bike, as the rest of the team tried to calm him down.

"Easy" Shelby said.

"Relax Koda" Amelia reassured koda.

"Sorry, instincts say danger" Koda said.

"No apologies. I totally get, where you're from anything that makes a strange sound, is a threat." Shelby said as She walked to Koda's side.
Suddenly, Shelby's cell-phone started to ringing. Koda swiftly turned and smashed the phone to pieces, leaving the team and Shelby in Shock.

"I am sorry Shelby, I..." Koda apologized to Shelby. Chase Said "no apologies mate, she totally gets it." As Amelia lightly punched his shoulder.

Kendall walked over to Koda. "He's grown accustomed to morphin into a ranger, but.." Kendall started to say. But Koda interrupted her, by saying "some modern things. still give me nervous?" Looking at Kendall.

Chase walked up to Koda and place his arm around is shoulder. "Look you just need a few pointers. I've ridden everything from roller coasters to kangaroos. If anybody can teach you to ride, it's me" Chase said as he and Koda were about to leave the command center. But got stopped by Riley saying "hey whoa whoa, wait a second. There aren't any kangaroos in New Zealand, those are in Australia."

"Ah details, let's give it a go" Chase said to Riley, then left with Koda.

"I better go with them, so nothing bad happens" Amelia said as she picked up her rollerblades then caught up with Koda and Chase. For a whole year, Amelia has always kept her eye on Koda and Chase.
