Wolf's stomach wuldn't stop flipping as she tore through her closet.
"Ugh!" She grumbled.
"Wolf?" Her mother asked from the doorway.
"Yea?" Wolf replied, surprised to see her. Her mother handed her a thin white box with a black ribbon on it.
"I know I've never given you much- but here."
Wolf pulled open the lid and smiled. "Mom...i-it's perfect."
Her mother smiled as she walked out of the room. Wolf rummaged through the tissue paper in the box and pulled out the beautiful dress that waited inside. It was white with an elegant black swirl design. The dress had a thin black mesh over it and a black ribbon tie around the waist. It flowed beautifully at the bottom and fell just above her knees. Her black spiked pumps went with the dress perfectly.
"Perfect!" Wolf said excitedly as she grabbed her phone and wallet.
"Where the hell are you going?" A gruff voice said from behind her. Slowly Wolf turned and her father came into view.
"Out." she replied flatly.
"With who?"
"A friend."
Her father looked irritated by the one word answers, not that Wolf cared.
"When will you be home?" He asked.
"Late. Don't wait up." She said trying to hurry out of the room.
"Where the hell do you get off, girl?" He was starting to get angry now.
"Look I'm late. Why don't you go call your little blond friend? I'm sure she'd love to spend time with you." As soon as the statement left Wolf's lips, she felt a hand make contact with her cheek. Before she could blink, her father had pinned her to the wall, hard and was eye to eye with her.
"Look bitch, don't forget I own you. Without me, you'll rot here." Her father growled. His eyes were dilated and his face was red with anger. Wolf bit her tongue and nodded. The grip holding her against the wall was released. Wolf glared at her father and quickly headed for the door.
"And by the way, the bitch's name is MIssy. Watch it or she'll end up replacing you." Her father said from the hallway.
Wolf growled to herself as she ran out the door. She hated that man so much it made her stomach hurt.
"Hey beautiful." A sweet voice called out. Wolf looked up to see Andy walking her direction. She felt her muscles relax and smile spread across her face.
"Hiya." She replied.
"Are you alright? Your cheek is really red." Andy said with a concerned look.
"Uh- yea. Just blushing a lot I guess." Wolf put a hand to her cheek to cover the red mark. "Shall we go?"
Andy grinned ear to ear. "We shall." He held the door open for Wolf as she climbed into his car. She could see Andy smiling like an excited school boy as he hurried to the other side and slide into the driver's seat.
"Ready?" He asked sticking the keys into the ignition.
"Make it so, commander!" Wolf smiled. Andy chuckled as he backed out of her driveway. And just like that all her worries melted away as Wolf gazed into those dazzling blue eyes. That devious smiled of his captivated her. The issue of her father however, nagged at the back of her mind.
'Maybe I should cut my losses and split. I would be living in a box, but I wouldn't get humped and groped every other day.' Wolf thought to herself.
"Are you alright?" Andy asked, eyes still on the road.
"Hrmm?" Wolf mumbled, coming out of her daze. "Yea, why do you ask?"
"You just look- troubled." He replied looking for the right word.
"Just....a lot on my mind." Wolf said trying to smile. Andy returned the smile and gently placed his hand over hers. Wolf felt warm tingles shoot up her spine.
They arrived at a small cafe. Andy graciously held the door open for Wolf as they entered. It smelled of coffee and cinnamon. As they were seated, Andy told Wolf to order whatever she liked and that it was his treat. To Wolf's dismay, he wouldn't take no for an answer. She decided to keep it small and ordered a small tiramisu and an iced latte.
"So, have you ever been here before?" Andy asked after the orders had been placed.
"No, why?" Wolf asked sipping her water.
"You live here silly." Andy chuckled softly.
"Oh. Well, no. I don't get out much. You should know that. Most of the time I'm playing Call of Duty with you."
Both of them laughed as their food arrived. As Wolf took a bite of the delicious tiramisu she felt it melt in her mouth. Warm mocha and chocolate with a hint of cream and coffee.
"So, what's your impression of me so far? Now that you've met me?" Andy asked. Wolf blushed as she thought long and hard. Finally, she spoke.
"I think....you're the same person you've always been. My amazing, smart, honest, caring best friend I've come to care for very deeply. Who I would do anything for and be nothing without." She smiled at Andy and sipper her latte. "You're my Batman, and I love you."
Andy looked stunned, his heart pounding like a Native American battle drum. 'Wow, she's so....amazing....'he thought to himself. Before he could actually respond, the waiter appeared with the check. Once paid, Andy followed Wolf out to the car. Before he turned on the engine he turned to Wolf and smiled. "Where to my dear?"
"Hmmm,well- there is this place i absolutely love." Wolf smiled and typed something into the GPS.
"What's so special about it?" Andy asked baking out of the parking lot.
"You'll see." Wolf smiled mischievously.
