The field was beautiful. The pale light of the moon was just bright enough to act as a lantern for the young couple as the crossed the meadow to a large willow tree. Andy seemed to be in awe they sat just beneath the tree.
"Its gorgeous." He said softly, as if not to disturb his surroundings.
"Thank you. I come here often to escape- problems."
"It's absolutely stunning." Andy smiled, placing his hand on hers.
Wolf gave a cute smile. "Watch this." She cupped her hands around her mouth and gave a low but quite loud howl into the still night air. They waited, and listened. A wolf howled from beyond the nearby thicket. It was so close it made Andy jump.
Ever so slowly, a small grey wolf crawled from under the thicket. It sniffed the night air and looked around the meadow. Andy and Wolf watched, captivated by the small, beautiful creature. The wolf spotted them and wagged it's tail slightly before howling again once more. Multiple howls echoed throughout the mountains in reply. The small wolf turned back towards the thicket and bounded out of sight.
Both of them just stared at each other, still unsure if that had actually just happened.
"That was- amazing." Andy said finally.
"I love watching them, especially at night. The moonlight glints off their fur and it looks so beautiful."
Andy looked at his watched and frowned. "It's getting pretty late. I should be getting you home."
Wolf's smiled faded. She knew what was waiting for her at home. Her father would be on her as soon as she walked in the door. She gently leaned against Andy, who blushed slightly.
"Please- I don't want to go home. Not yet." She whispered softly. Andy nodded and nuzzled Wolf's neck. Her skin was soft, tan, flawless. His body tingled at her every touch. Even now as his cheek rest atop her head, his nerves felt electrically charged.
"Where shall we go then?" He asked feeling a cold breeze pick up.
"Anywhere, as long as I'm with you." Wolf cuddled up to him more, trying to keep warm.
"My hotel isn't too far from here." Andy offered. Wolf nodded. A nice cozy little room for the two of them sounded nice.
On the drive to the hotel, Wolf decided to text her mom. Not that her mother would probably even notice her absence.
Hey, staying the night with my friend. Be home tomorrow. Maybe the next day.
Okay, be safe. I love you.
I love you? When has her mother ever said that? Wolf shrugged it off and shut her phone off.She then shifted her gaze towards Andy, his deep blue eyes watching the road. Long black hair that fell just passed his shoulders. In a word- perfection. She still felt in the back of her mind that this was all a dream. That any minute she'd wake up and be back in the dark whole she'd been living in since her brother's death.
"Wolf?" A voice called tot her.
"Hunh?" Wolf replied, not realized who or what it was.
"I said I'm stopping for gas, you want anything?" Andy smiled. Wolf looked around and saw they were no longer driving through hills and mountains the cloaked the meadow they'd been in not a few moments ago.
"Uh- sure, some coffee would be nice." Wolf said reaching for her wallet. Andy smiled and stopped her with his gentle hand. Wolf nodded and smiled in response. It felt so right being here. In the time since her brother's death, Wolf had never felt so complete.
"Here." Andy smiled and handed her a Styrofoam cup. "White chocolate mocha and 3 sugars."
"Y-you remember that?" Wolf asked surprised.
"I remember everything." Andy smiled playfully. " About you."
