Parker and I took the train back since Parker had taken the train to get here and so had I. Butt face kept gripping unto my hand. He was shaking like a leaf. Park didn't have a job and his family was barely hanging on with money. If Barb didn't find another job, she could lose the house. I've never seen him so nervous in my life.
"Park everything's gonna be okay...If you guys lose the house, you can come stay with us. Everything is gonna be okay." I said wiping his face of sweat and tears.
"But she-"
"I know Park. She's gonna be okay. We are gonna make it okay." I said kissing his cheek.
He rested his head against my shoulder falling asleep on the hour train ride. He was in so much pain with worrying about his mother. I could just see it in his face when he looked at me.
----------------------------------------------We were almost there so I figured that I would wake Parker up now.
"Park." I said kissing his forehead. He snuggled in even closer to me.
"Hey butt face you have to get up." I said kissing his cheek.
"I don't want to." He said through his smushed cheeks. He sounded so cute.
"Oh butt face you are making this so hard for me." I said kissing him on his other cheek.
"Why do I have to be butt face? Can't I be babe? Or baby?" He asked me.
"If you get up, I'll call you babe." I said.
He sat straight up. The train stopped as we came into the station. We both got up and got off the train.
"Where's the car?" I asked him.
He stopped in the middle of his tracks as if he were waiting for something. Ugh he had to be so hard sometimes.
"Where's the car babe?" I asked him making fun of the word babe under my breath.
"What was that beauty?" He asked me as if he heard what I said.
"Nothing beast." I said roaring at him after I called him that. He was feeling better. I could see it in his face.
"Beauty and the Beast. I personally love it." He said twirling me around.
"Come on you dip wad. The beast totally fits you by the way." I said laughing.
"Get in the car missy." He said opening the car door for me.
"Fine mister." I said laughing even more. Park got in and then we drove a little over the speed limit, to his house.
His mother's car was in the drive way. I hopped out of the car and ran inside. Inside didn't look as good as the outside did. The inside seemed to change depending on Mrs.Evans' mood. I ran into the living room and she was laying on the couch, a bottle of wine in her hand and in her other hand was a bottle of vodka. She was watching the news, screaming at the television. Parker couldn't see his mom like this. I ran to the front door. Parker was coming in now. He opened the door and stood there, locking the door behind him. It felt like all slow motion for me but I grabbed a belt that was on the stair case and kissed Parker with the belt behind my back. I pushed him to the wall deepening the kiss. Parker turned it around so that he was facing the wall and I had my back against it. Perfect. I pushed him all the way to where the stairs were right by the door and he sat down on the steps. He helped me out by putting his hands together as if to gesture 'come sit down on my lap' so I quickly sat on his lap and put his hands in the middle of the belt and belted them to the banister.
"I'm sorry but you can't fix this. You are a boy and you will just rage out. She needs a girl. And you don't want to see her in the state she is in. I'm sorry. And I understand if you don't forgive me." I said kissing his cheek and getting off his lap.
"My girlfriend is badass." He said starring at me as if I was a stripper. I kissed his lips one more time.
"If you don't give me some of that sugar later you are gonna get it." He said kissing my nose.
"I love you butt face." I said kissing his forehead.
"You know I love you too babe." He said winking as I walked away, Parker starring at me as I walked to find his mother. Once again she was sitting on the couch but this time one of the glasses was empty. She looked at it and then threw it. Directly at me.
I screamed because I panicked. It hit me right in the stomach. Because I was pretty tall. Parts of the glass had gone through me.
"LAYLA!!" Parker screamed when he heard my scream.
"FUCK LAYLA!!! SHIT!!! LAYLA ARE YOU OKAY?!? BABE!!!! ARE YOU OKAY?! MOM!!" He screamed pulling on the restraints that I tied him in.
"I'M....FINE." I screamed back. I went over to Mrs.Evans and took the other bottle in her hand and threw it on the floor.
"No more. You are gonna get sober and we are gonna talk. Understand? Because if you don't....I think there are enough shards on the floor for me to cut you with them." I said yelling at her.
"Pull yourself together woman. You have a son who needs you right now. He's more of a mess then you are because I tied him up over there to keep him from seeing you like this. I protected him from this," I said gesturing to herself. I tried my best to walk into the kitchen and I grabbed a glass of water. I went back to Mrs.Evans as fast as I could. Thank God she was still on that couch. I stood next to her because I didn't think will all this blood on me that it would be good on this couch. I made that woman chug that glass of water down. If that didn't made her sober up, coffee would. I went to go make a cup of coffee when Parker ran into the kitchen.
