Finding Love Again: Adrian's Story

Part 5: Meeting The Family

Coming downstairs after spending forty-five minutes picking out what he would wear tonight when Grayson and Amelia came over for dinner. They had been seeing each other for almost two months now and things between them were getting serious so Adrian thought it was time for him to meet his brother and sister in law. The back door stood open as Damon grilled steaks and burgers for the dinner, walking out on the back deck Adrian leaned against the wall and watched him grill the meat.

  "I'm nervous Damon, I really like this guy and I want you guys to like him too." He says to his younger brother as he folded his arms and looked at Damon who was smiling as he flipped the burgers. Laying the spatula down Damon stepped in front of his brother and touched his shoulder with his hand, he sighed softly and squeezed his shoulder.

"Don't worry Adrian everything will be fine, we want you to be happy and if this Grayson makes you happy then I'm happy for you. We only want to meet him and get to know him and his daughter, especially if they're going to be coming around often." He said looking at Adrian with a smile on his face. Taking a deep breath Adrian shook his head and went back inside to the living room where Devon lay on a blanket and Mariyah played with him. As he entered the room Mariyah looked up and smiled at him, getting to her feet she ran to him and leapt into his arms hugging him tightly.

"Is you friend here Uncle Adrian? She asked looking up at him as she laid her cheek against his shoulder as she held his gaze.

"Not yet Mari sweetie, but he'll be here in a few minutes with his daughter so you'll have someone to play with." He said laying his forehead to hers and taps her nose gently with a smile on his face. As he sat her on her feet the doorbell rang, smoothing his shirt he walked to the door and opened it smiling at Grayson and Amelia. Stepping out onto the porch he took a hold of the front of his shirt and kissed him softly then looked at Amelia and kissed her forehead as she reached for him. Taking her in his arms she wrapped her arms around his neck as Adrian took Grayson's hand and walked with him into the living room where Regan was strapping Gage into his bouncer.

"Regan, this is Grayson and Amelia, Grayson this is my sister in law Regan and that's my brother Damon." He said as Damon walked on the back door carrying freshly cooked steaks. Sitting the plate down Damon walked over to Grayson and offered him his hand in a friendly handshake.

"It's nice to meet you Grayson, Adrian has told us a lot about you." He said with a smile as they walked to the dining room where dinner waited for them. Sitting the steaks on the table everyone took their seats with Devon and Gage in the play pen together.

"So what do you do for a living Grayson?" Damon asked as they filled their plates with the food on the table.

"I own the new french restraunt that just opened, it's based out of New Orleans but we've got several other locations around the US and we 're in discussion to open several locations in Canada." He said as he cut a piece of steak and put it on his mouth and chewed slowly.  Adrian smiled at Grayson as he talked with his brother, reaching over he took Grayson's hand and squeezed it easily as he lifted his hand and kissed his hand.

"I told you he was great, not to mention very handsome." Adrian said looking at Damon then at Grayson who was watching him with an easy smile on his handsome face. Regan sat silently as she watched them, taking everything in before she laid her fork down and leaned forward she crossed her arms and looked at Grayson.

"I just hope you're going to be good to Adrian, he's. Even hurt enough in the past and I don't want to see him hurt again." She said looking Grayson in the eyes, meaning every word she said.

"I'd never hurt him Regan, you have no worries there, I really care for him and I want him to stay by my side for a long time." He confessed looking at Adrian and lifts his hand to his lips and kisses it gently. Letting out a sigh Regan relaxed her posture and shook her head at his answer to her expectations for him. A smile spread across Adrian's face as he leaned over and kissed him softly on the lips and looked into his eyes as he caressed his jaw easily. Finishing their dinner Mariyah took Amelia up to her room to play as Regan and Damon watched the babies so Adrian and Grayson could go out on the back deck and be alone for awhile.

Adrian stepped out onto the deck and walked over to the railing and leaned on it and took a deep breath as he looked up at the stars as they twinkled overhead. As he stood there he heard the door open again and listened to Grayson walk across the wood planks and sighed as he wrapped his arms around him. Grayson rested his chin on Adrian's shoulder and and watched his profile as a smile crossed his lips as he laid his hands over his. Slowly Grayson started kissing him behind the ear and traveled to his neck, his soft lips brushing against his skin.

"I've wanted to get you alone all night long." He whispered against Adrian's skin and held him against him, his back pressed against his chest. Adrian groaned softly as Grayson went back to kissing his neck and nipped his shoulder with his blunt teeth, reaching back he gripped his hip.

"I know how you feel love, I've been looking forward to having you here all day, I want my family to like you because I plan on keeping you." He said turning and sits on the rail as he looked into his eyes. With a soft sigh Grayson moved closer to him and stood between his legs and held his face between his large hands as he brushed his lips to Adrian's, letting his eyes fall shut.

"I love you Adrian, you are one of the best things to happen to me in a long time, I can't imagine not having you in my life." He said stroking his cheeks with the pad of his thumbs.

"I love you too Grayson, with all my heart." He said standing and kisses him firmly on the lips, his entire body tingling. As they kissed the door opened a third time and Amelia walked out yawning and rubbing her eyes, tugging on Grayson's pant leg saying she was tired and wanted to go home. With a sigh he kissed Adrian one last time and picked up Amelia and nuzzled her nose with his, taking his hand Adrian walked out to Grayson's car and watched as  Grayson strapped Amelia in her car seat. Then getting behind the wheel he started the car and drove away into the night.
