The Heart Brings You Back

When you and I collide.

Ridley's Pov-

We got out of the jeep and Scott helped me through the woods. Yes, I needed help. Damn, my ankle. 

I suddenly felt complete empathy for anyone that was much more crippled than ignorant ole me.

After about 10 minutes in the woods, Stiles said," I give up. Sorry, Scott, but we are never going to find your inhaler."

"Calm down, Stiles."

Stiles has always been the drama queen. I remember the first day of summer before 7th grade, we all walked to the ice cream parlor down the street and, though it had been Stiles' idea, he whined the whole way there. In the end, we never got any ice cream and had to walk back home.

I snapped out of my thoughts when suddenly we come across the burned down house from last night. I hated the feeling I got every time I was near it.

The wood outside was rotten and black and I could smell what remained, despite me being more than 50 feet away from it. The sight of the decaying home, brought on a sense of dread. I knew someone had lived here and had lost everything they ever loved; I don't know if I'd survive that. 

Luckily, for me, I died before I had to truly mourn my loved ones. I was the first one in our group of friends to go. 

"Woah,"I mumbled, turning my head slightly so the boys couldn't see the melancholy expression on my face.

"Hey! This is private property!" A voice yelled. If only I had known that the owner of this voice would change my life completely.

I looked for who spoke, and about 15 feet away from me, was the man with the beautiful green eyes. The man who had saved me. The man whom I will forever be in debt. My hero.

Yay! ____Derek's Pov-  (because this chapter would be hella short without it) 

When I saw the beautiful girl in the woods, I knew she was my mate. I remember stories being told around the pack house, all about having a mate. The legends claimed that a werewolf's world will revolve around this being. As soon as my eyes met hers, my hopeless world suddenly had hope again.

And man, she is beautiful. She has wavy, golden hair trailing down to her lower back. Her eyes were a hazy blue that reminded me of the sky during a thunderstorm. My eyes couldn't help but wander below her eyes to her button nose, her soft, pink, kissable lips, her perfectly rounded breasts to her lean torso, then to her tiny, delicate hands. I held myself back from looking any further. My mate deserves the privacy despite my stone cold urge to- never mind. She will not be like my other girlfriends. She is no Paige. She is no Kate. She is mine.

I know she is human but I can't help that we are soulmates. I love her no matter what she is and I don't even know her yet! No matter how much I don't want to admit it, I think I am already whipped.

The next day, she and 2 boys came back. I held a growl into the back of my throat. I could tell one was the teen bitten yesterday, but the other ticked my nerves.

"Hey! This is private property!" I shout. Wow, off to a rough start. My mate can be here as long as she wants but I'd prefer if the boys next her would disappear.

Then my mate looked at me. I could see her blue eyes clearly. She's gorgeous!! She also wore a red coat. My mate. My red riding hood. Unlike the fairy tale story, I will not try to eat her... well maybe.

What I really wanted to do, was know her.

I know Derek is tough on the outside but I like believing that he is gentle and caring on the inside.

Also, I don't know why the gif isn't showing and it's making me mad haha so if anyone knows why that happens, let me know.

Hope you liked the chappy! Sorry it's short! And, again, I know it is completely cliche but it irks me when writers wait till the end of the book for the romance to occur. I picked a romance book for a reason. I expect to be romanced lol.

Also, please stop reading the editing chapters because they will make you hella confused haha
