Soulmates
You're in my veins and I cannot get you out.
Ridley's Pov~
They pushed me away from that God and took me home. Fighting the urge to rush back and into his muscular arms, I went to sleep right away. I just wanted to dream of him if I couldn't be with him. I still didn't know his name.God, was I even listening to myself? A complete stranger shouldn't make my heart race. Is love at first sight even realistic? I couldn't get him off mind, still can't.
I read a book about this once. I remember thinking the girl was absolutely bonkers. She mentioned often of the butterflies the boy gave her. But I didn't have butterflies in my stomach. I had bats.
I mean, I think, Stiles said his name is Derek. Sexy name. Though I pitied him. Stiles also said his family died. His house was the broken one. If my home broke, so would I. I couldn't fathom how he was feeling.
So I slept, curled into my bare white sheets, with nothing but a tank-top and panties. I just wanted to dream. Dream of his beautiful eyes. I'd imagine him happy because beautiful people, or any people for that matter, don't deserve to live a life of sorrow.
Thump!
That's what I woke up to. A thump coming from the corner of my room where my desk sat.
I quickly sat up and grabbed my phone. Switching on my flashlight, I noticed my pale blue curtains swaying with the breeze that came through my now-open window. I dropped my phone and quickly turned to click on my IKEA lamp.
Click.
I snapped my head in the direction of the noise to discover what had woken me up. I catch a glance of a large shadow in the corner of the room. I jumped from my bed and rushed to press my back against the corner of the other side of the room, knocking over and shattering my lamp in the process.
The room was pitch black and frighteningly silent. The type of quiet for you to hear a pin drop.
Suddenly, the stillness was interrupted by the unknown figure prowling closer to me. Their footsteps pressing against the floorboards were the loudest thing i'd ever heard, besides my heartbeat racing in my chest.
I wish I could hear it now.
"W-who are you?" I whispered.
The stranger stepped forward and picked the phone off my bed, which still had the flashlight on. They turned the device around, blinding me for a moment, then shining it from under their chin.
My hero? Derek?
"What are you doing here?" I questioned, shaking my head in disbelief.
Don't get me wrong, I was relieved it was him. The shaking in my hands began to cease and I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding.
"I needed to see you," He smiled. The burning in my cheeks came back.
"That's creepy," I rolled my eyes, but I was squealing inside. He needed to see me!
