"Lucy wake up, you lazy ass"

"Five more minutes" I groaned throwing my duvet over my head and snuggling into my warm comfy pillows.

"Your going to be late now get out of bed before I drag you out". My sister yelled grabbing ahold of my right ankle and tugging on it to emphasize she was serious, I insintcly reached out and grabbed onto my headboard. My fingers wrapping around it so tightly I almost broke it.

"Let go of me before you break my bed" I screamed kicking at her, I felt her hands tighten for a second before letting go of my ankle.

"Why do you always have to be so difficult? Can't you just wake up like a normal person?"

"Well let's see last time I checked I wasn't normal." I rolled my eyes at her while pushing my duvet back and hoping out of bed.

I was currently staying at my sister Ava's house since my mom was away on a business trip, I didn't want to be alone at home so I decided to come crash at Ava's instead. My sister lived alone so it wasn't a big issue she also works at the high school I go to so it was killing two birds with one stone I get a ride to school and I'm on time.

I walked towards the bathroom and shut the door behind me. Oh god my hair was a mess I didn't have time for a shower. Grabbing my brush I started working on the tangles until my hair was cascading like a waterfall onto my shoulders. I ran my fingers through my hair feeling the silky soft strands, I loved my hair it was radiant like the sun and soft. I had light blue eyes framed by my long lashes, and pink full lips. I would always get compliments from people telling me how beautiful and perfect I was but they didn't know the truth I was a monster. I had to drink from innocent life's to survive, without blood I would die. I wasn't just an average vampire I was a pure blood I was born this way which meant I needed to feed more often than a normal vampire did. My mother was a witch and so was my sister, my father had left us when I was a baby. I never knew why every time I asked my mom about him she would deflect the questions and change the subject. I tried not to bring him up much I knew how it hurt her talking about him but it was difficult I had so many unanswered questions. It was hard growing up without a father figure in my life but I mean I didn't turn out that bad my mother was so sweet and loving she...

Bang! Bang! Bang!

I jumped as I heard my sister pounding on the bathrooms door, I had been so caught up in my thoughts I hadn't noticed I was just standing there in front of the mirror.

"Please hurry Lucy we still have a chance of getting to school before the bell rings." She pleaded behind the door. I sighed and quickly walked to the door, opening it I stepped back inside my room and towards the closet.

"Can you warm some food for me? I promise I'll be down in five minutes give or take." ...And by food I meant blood I hated drinking it cold. Ava nodded her head and turned around and headed downstairs. I decided on wearing jeans with a white t-shirt and some brown boots with my army green raincoat since it was the middle of August and the breeze outside was chilly; I could sense it was going to rain later on today, no point in dressing up. Turning the lights off as I came out of the closet I saw my red scarf layed out on my window seat. Walking towards it I grabbed it wrapping it around my neck. There, my outfit was complete. I didn't want my sister to bitch at me again for being late so I quickly rushed downstairs. She was waiting for me by the door with my pink bottle in her right hand and her bag in the other. I could smell the delicious blood it was making my mouth water with its strong sweet smell. I immediately took the bottle once I reached her and took a sip the rich sweet taste making my tastebuds explode.

"You ready?" I nodded walking out the door to the car parked in the driveway while sipping on the bottle. Thank god I had left my bag here I rarely got homework so no point in carrying it around I usually just left it in my sister's class after school but I had been in a hurry and took it home with me.
