Chapter 14 A Fresh Start

I grab my phone and go to messages I click Jai name and text "if you still love me meet me at Ralph's in 5 minutes" then I click send. I put my shoes on and head downstairs I start walking to Ralph's.

When I get there I see a bench and I go sit in it I look around and I don't see anyone I look at my phone and it's 5:36 then I check the text message, no reply but it's says read. I wait for a while a few people pass by but no sign of Jai, I should of known this wasn't going to work. I check my phone again, it's 6:07, I don't thinks he's going to show up but I really want him to. There is still no sign of him so I start walking back to my apartment building, as I am walking I see someone walking towards me in the distance and I feel a tear roll down my face, I can't see him but I just know it's not Jai. So I put my head down and keep walking, I feel a tap on my shoulder and I wipe my tears and I look up, Jai, it's Jai "you came?" I manage to say "yeah, I thought you would be gone by now" he says "well, I couldn't leave until I was sure you made your decision" I say only a little above a whisper "well, I am here now so what did you want to tell me" he says "I love you..... And I just can't lose you we may have only a few memories but they were great ones and..... I would pick the the tears over anything any day just so I could say we are together..... So what I am really trying to say is can we just start over" I say he looks at me in the eyes and just stares at me for a moment. Then he pushes me back and I fall into a bush and I realize it's the same bush that we first met in and he falls into as well. I smile "does this mean yes?" I ask he sticks out his hand "hi, my name is Jai" I laugh and say "hi, my name is McKayla" he leans in a whispers "time to fix my first mistake" and our lips connect, I was wrong his kiss is so much better than Luke's and I've missed Jai's kisses. Jai pulls away and stands up, he puts his hand out and I take it, we start walking together hand in hand just happy to be with each other again.

Jai walks me back to my apartment building, then walks back home I walk in side and smile at Matt, he waves as I step into the elevator. I get to my room and almost the second after I sit down I hear a knock at the door and immediately I feel a sting on my cheek I open my eyes it's Hailey oh shit Luke probably told her before I say anything I notice her eyes are bloodshot and she reeks of alcohol. "Hailey I-" I start but she cuts me of "no I don't want to hear your little apology, I was worried sick about you because you didn't answer the door last night or any of your text messages and the I go over to the Janoskians house and Luke all beat up, so I ask him what happened and then I find out his brother beat him up because he kiss you. McKayla how could you do that to me you knew u liked Luke and you ha Jai but no, that wasn't enough for you, you had to go ahead and get his twin brother too, you little selfish bitch!" She screams at me "I know what I did was really wrong and I am really sorry but I already made up with Jai so-" she cuts me of again "Jai already forgave you! What how come you get everything you want just like that, you will never have a problem in your life no matter how much you mess up other people's lives it will always go your way" "look Hailey you've clearly been drinking so this makes it 10x harder to talk you, yes you should be mad at me but you really maybe should go lay down for a little while" I suggest "I don't need to lie down, I am perfectly fine, but you just don't like me yelling at you!" She adds. I pull out my phone and send a quick message to Ashley "can you come get Hailey she's at my door drink yelling at me" a minute after it sends I hear her door open and Ashley comes out and grabs Hailey "come on we will talk about this in the morning Hailey" Ashley says while pushing Hailey into her room. Once they shut the door I shut mine and sit on the couch and dial Luke's number he and answers after the second ring "hello?" "Hi, how did she take it?" I ask "well, she mainly screamed at me but she's really upset, what should I do?" He asks me "well first of all she is really drunk right now so maybe in the morning go over with some aspirin and sit her down and try to tell her the full story, and you gotta kinda take from there I am not really sure" I answer "alright thanks McKayla, how's you and Jai?" He asks "we are good now, we are starting over" I tell him "okay, well that's good have a good night" he says quietly I can tell he's ready to cry at any minute "okay, goodnight and good luck with Hailey" I says, the phone call ends. I go into the kitchen and make a sandwich I grab a glass of water and go sit in the living room.

I put the dishes in the dishwasher and go cuddle up in bed. I hope Hailey will forgive me and Luke. I pull out my phone and send a quick "goodnight <3" to him, he replays a minute later "sleep tight beautiful ;)" I smile then place my phone on the side table dresser, I close my eyes and fall asleep.
