Chapter 27 Need a Job

McKayla's P.O.V

I open my eyes and look at the clock 9:08am, I have a pounding headache. I turn my head and look at Jai he's sound asleep, I untangle myself from Jai and climb out of bed. I grab a pair of spandex shorts and slip into them because I am only in a dirty pig sweater. I walk into the kitchen and I go into the medication cabinet and look for Advil. Of course they are all out of Advil so I am going to have to go pick some up at the store. I grab my keys off the counter and walk out the front door. I don't really care how I look right now I just need to get some Advil.

I walk into shoppers drug mart and I find the Advil, walk up to the laddie at the desk and hand it to her. I pull my wallet out of my purse as she scans the container. "$12.50" the laddie says and I've only got like five dollars in change so I say "Debit" she hands me the debit machine and I stick my card in and type in the password "Card declined" pops up on the screen so I try it again. same thing happens "card declined" "um excuse me, this keeps saying card declined" I tell the laddie in front of me. She looks onto her computer screen and types a few things in and then says "you have no money left in your bank". what that can't be right how could that... oh I guess since I have been staying at the boys house and eating with them I haven't really had to worry about money, I've been with Jai so much I totally forgot about getting a job. I realize that I still haven't responded to the laddie so I quickly snap back and say "oh, sorry let me just go grab some money out of my car" I tell her then run out to my car and grab some of my coffee change to pay with then I run back inside and pay her.

I get back to the boy's house and take some advil then I go back up to Jai's room, grab his laptop and sit in the living room. One of the reasons I moved to LA was to start my acting career and guess with the whole moving and practically living with the boys I hadn't really thought about money and now I am like completely broke. I googled acting jobs in LA and I came across a few nothing I really had much of an interest in but I need something. I call some of the places, but no answers so I just had to leave voicemails, hoping they would reply back soon. Oh wait, here's one someone needs an actress for a music video his name is Faydee and the song is called "can't let go" this could work. I pick my phone back up and call the number provided."...... ring....... ring........ring" the phone rings I'll probably have to leave another voicemail. "Hi, this is Faydee's management Rebecca speaking how can I help you" a girl on the phone says "Oh, Hi Rebecca I was just calling wondering if the auditions for Faydee's new music video were still open?" I ask. "Yes, actually our finally auditions are tomorrow if I can just get your name and number I'll put your name on the list" Rebecca answers nicely "yep, my name is Mckayla Perk and you can reach me at....." I gave her the information she needed and she told me the address and time tomorrow I needed to be there for the final auditions. I got off the phone with her and I heard someone coming down the stairs I turn around and see a sleepy Jai. He stuck out his bottom lip and whinned "Why did you leave me?" "sorry I had a bad headache earlier so I came down to get some advil" I answer in few details. "what are you doing with my laptop?" he asks and he asks as he jumps on the couch beside me "looking for a job" I answer "you don't need a job can pay for you" Jai tells me "No I want to pay for myself, I need to start my career" I tell him. He is too sweet for offering to pay for me and I know he has the money but first of all I want my own job and second of all I can't always rely on him to pay for me because if something ever happened to us or we broke up I would be lost with no money and no job. "Wait what do you do anyway we've never really talked about our careers much I mean you kinda know what I do but what do you do?" he complicatedly tries to ask "you know to make that sentence way simpler you could have just stopped at what do you do" I tell him just to be a smart ass. "whatever, now tell me" he demands and I laugh "I'm an actress and I just scored myself an audition" "wow, cool what are you auditioning for?" Jai asks "a girl in a Faydee's new music video" I tell him "Can't Let Go?" he asks I nod my head yes "What the fuck no way" He says "are you big fan of  him or something?" I ask "no, we are good buddies he's like James best friend other than us, and I am going to be in that music video too!" He tells me excited "seriously" I say "yeah he asked me a couple days ago I am like the main character, do you want me to put a good word in for you?" Jai asks "I would love that but I kinda wanna get this part on my own" I tell him "Okay if you're sure, but if you change your mind just tell me babe, It'll be so much better doing this video with you!" he exclaims.
