"Bella I don't hear anyone and the only emotions I can feel are yours and Carlie's." Jasper says.
"Thats because of my shields. There up for a reason. Once you pass my mental shield I can read your mind, see your past, see your future. It's complex. No one has passed through it yet but someone is brushing past it. Looking for a way around it. Which means there are only a handful of people who it could be." I explain before getting Carlie.
"Who?" He asks and I cock my head.
"Edward, Victoria, Peter and Charlotte, or the Volturi and since I only knoe of 2 good people out of the whole group..... This is not good." I say grabbing my phone and dialing Jake's number.
"What's wrong?" He asks immediately.
"I don't know. You know the extent of my mental shield. Do a perimeter check? I sensed something." I say calmly.
"Of course. I'll have Sam and Leah do it. Their on patrol tonight." He says.
"Let me know who you find." I say.
"Alright. Just make sure someone can get through the physical shield." He says.
"Carlie is safe Jake. But your welcome to come over to see for yourself." I say gently.
"Cullen still there?" He asks coldly.
"He was never a Cullen Jake. He never had that name and yes he's still here. But even so, she's your imprint I know hoe your feeling. You can stay in Charlies old room." I say and I hear him breathe a sigh of relief.
"Thanks Bella." He says hanging up. I try extending my shield but it doesn't go much farther but I can sense multiple people.
"Does anyone besides Alice know your here?" I ask putting Carlie on the floor to play as she had woken up when I got her.
"Not that I know of. Why?" He asks.
"There's more than one. So if it's Edward it's not just him." I say looking out a window.
"Are your shields up all the time?" He asks curiously and I pull my physical shield back revealing a light shimmery blue shield.
"Only when I'm home, they are always around Carlie unless she is with Jake because they protect her when I can't. My mental shield is always out. I like to know who's coming. Precautions after you guys left. I had a surprise visitor. Victoria showed up, my shields are the only reason I'm still alive." I say as my phone goes off.
"Cullen's and Volturi. Cullen's decided to move back. Volturi want to see you." Sam says.
"Alright direct both groups to my physical shield. Tell them to follow the shield as it moves. Make sure they don't touch it unless they want to die." I say throwing my physical shield out as far as I can.
"Jake's with them. He won't let them out of his sight. I warned everyone already." Sam says.
"Thanks Sam." I say softly and hang up. When I feel everyone cross my mental shield I start reacting it to my physical shield. Then I slowly retract my physical shield until its only around me and Carlie.
I go answer the door and frown.
"She's in the living room playing." I say softly and Jake immediately goes in, in wolf form.
"Not in my house Jacob!" I snap amused and he whines.
"Your clothes are in Charlies room. Phase and get dressed. You know how I feel about wolves in my house." I say and he disappears upstairs before coming back seconds later.
"Bella I'm always a wolf." He points out.
"You won't be in wolf form in my house. You know better. It scares Carlie." I say and he nods before going to the living room.
"Aro, Marcus, Caius. Hi daddy." I say hugging my Dad.
"Bellybean." Dad says.
"Come on seriously?" I ask letting them in.
"Cullen's. What do you want?" I ask letting Alice in but using my physical shield to stop the others.
"Bella? What's wrong?" Esme asks.
"Seriously? You left me. 3 years ago. You don't get to just pop back up in my life at your own convenience." I snap.
"But Alice." Emmet says.
"Has kept in touch. I haven't heard from the rest of you since my birthday party where Edward made Jasper try and attack me." I snap.
"Jasper's unstable." Carlisle says.
"The hell he is. Why are you here." I ask as Rosalie goes to touch my blue shield.
"I wouldn't. I'm not joking the last person who touched my shield, erupted in flames and died." I say calmly.
"Really?" She asks intrigued.
"Yeah. Her name was Maria. She's dead. She didn't listen." I say calmly.
"Edward you should touch it. I wanna see if she's telling the truth." Rosalie says seriously and I laugh.
"Trust me she is." He says bitterly.
"Oh I'm sorry about Tanya as well." I smirk and he growls.
"No One comes in this house angry. Especially a vampire. Calm yourself." I say slowly.
"You killed my mate!" He snaps.
"No she killed herself by trying to attack me. I was protecting myself and my child." I say calmly. He hisses in anger.
"Bella can we come in?" Esme asks.
"You can he can't. He's not welcome here and he knows it." I say letting them in.
"Why?" Emmet asks.
"Because he tried to kill me." I say annoyed and shut the door in his face leaving my shield around the house so he can't get in. I go back to the living room to see Jake playing with Carlie away from the others.
"Hello Bella." Aro says with forced kindness.
"Don't pretend to like me because I won't pretend to like you. What do you want." I ask him.
"Peace child." Marcus says softly and I give a smile and nod.
"I'm sorry Marcus. Please make yourself at home. Not you people Just him." I say as everyone starts to.
"Bella?" Jasper asks softly.
"I like Marcus. I don't like the rest of them." I say standing by the window.
"Were here about your change." Aro says.
"You said I could chose who and when. I told you I won't do it unless I know for a fact Carlie Will be safe until I wake up, my shields won't more while I'm changing that much I know." I say calmly looking out the window and watch.
"You could bring her to Volterra for your change." Dad says and I hiss turning to glare at him.
"Absolutely not! Jane's and Alec have tried to kill me! All of you have tried to kill me! I won't take Carlie to that place! I don't think she will be safe there. Jacob won't let me take her anyway. And wolves aren't welcome in Volterra. God forbid you people play nice for 5 minutes." I snap glaring at Caius.
"Bella please!" Dad begs.
"You chose them, over me. I'm your daughter. None of them are your kids. You abandoned me! I said you could all change me. I also said Jasper and Alice had to be there otherwise it wouldn't be happening. Alice, Jasper, and I decided a long time ago that they were going to participate in my change. Stop trying to change my mind." I growl as stuff in the house starts shaking.
"Bella think of Carlie." Jacob says softly bringing Her over to me. I take her and force myself to calm down and stuff stops shaking.
"Jake try to get her to sleep." I say quietly handing Her back to him.
"You good now?" He asks as my phone goes off. I answer it without thinking.
"This is Bella." I say.
"Hey Bella it's me."
"Oh hey Angela." I say smiling to myself.
"So I was doing that research you asked me to do." She says and I immediately Harden my mental shield around me only and make it so no one can hear me.
"What did you find." I ask.
"You we're Right." She slowly.
"Their all dead, it was hushed up?" I ask.
"Yeah, except their child didn't die. She was taken." Angela says.
"Oh keep looking in to it for me." I say.
"Of course." She says and I hang up.
"Sorry that was important" I say crossing my arms returning my shield to normal.
"Can we talk about your change?" Caius asks annoyed.
"What's there to talk about? I told you what I want." I say crossing my arms.
"Well for one you said you wanted us, your father, and the guard to change you along with Alice and Jasper, the guard isn't here." He says annoyed.
"Then I guess my change want happen tonight." I say amused and he glares.
"Your being ridiculous! Why do you want so many people to change you!" He explodes.
"Because I do. And because it pisses you off. You know what I want. Now get out of my house until it can be done." I say dangerously and they leave.
