Hey guys, I know it's been a while, I still get a lot of engagement from the stuff I wrote at the ripe age of 12, so I appreciate the support. I'm gonna try and be active again and improve my writing skills while I'm here!!!
"Parker?" Harley shouted across the empty parking lot. While they still spoke every few months, he and Peter weren't as close as they were when they were 16. In fact, the boys hadn't even seen each other in two years. Back then, they could see each other all the time, play video games, work in the lab together. Now, nearly 7 years later, they didn't have the kind of time they did back then. College took them by a landslide, while Peter was at MIT, Harley instead went to Georgia Tech, so that he could be closer to home.
Harley missed Peter. Peter missed Harley.
"Fucking Keener. Is that you?" Peter ran up to him, barely recognizing the handsome man before him. Even though it had only been two years, Harley grew into his looks. He was broader, taller, and still the cute face Peter saw in his dreams sometimes.
Harley hugged the man tightly, who smelled faintly of oil and pancakes, an odd but comforting mixture.
"Hey so what're you doin today Petey, it's been a while?"
"I don't have to be doing anything if it means I get to hangout with you Harls"
And so, the boys went to Peter's apartment, where Harley explained he was moving to Stark Towers to live and work alongside Pepper.
"I can't believe this. I think this will be the first time since high school that we get to see eachother for more than like three consecutive days. It's going to be so cool working with you"
"Wait you work there too? What do you do?"
It was then Peter knew, he was fucked. He was a terrible liar, and Harley didn't know about Spider-Man. Even though Spider-Man was apart of the Avengers, his identity was never publicly revealed.
"Well," Peter hesitated. Should he tell the truth or risk lying to the ever perceptive Harley Keener? He decided the former, "I really just help Pepper with her CEO stuff and Morgan, and sometimes the engineering and physics departments when they need it." It wasn't a full lie, but Peter still felt a twinge of guilt.
"Makes sense"
Yeah no. Harley always knew when Peter lied. Peter would get this cute little look on his face, his pupils blown ever slightly, and his ears would twinge with red. Peter was telling the biggest half-truth of the century.
That didn't stop him from going with it. If Peter was going to lie to him, it had to be for a good reason right? Right.
After all, they used to be the best of friends. Well Ned was Peter's best friend but, there was a big difference with Ned and Harley's friendship with Peter. The key difference being, Harley was in love with Peter for years. And after this reunification, he doesn't think his feelings have changed. At all. He was still the 16 year old boy who looked at Peter from across the lab and thought about a possibility of a future with him. About holding hands with him. Kissing him. Cuddling and watching movies and- he realized he needed to stop because Peter had been trying to get his attention. "Sorry what"
"Thought you may have had a stroke for a second, don't do that before our first date Keener"
"What?!" Harley turned redder than a tomato in July.
"I'm messing with you, jeez you're so easy"
"Oh right okay sorry"
"Don't be sorry, now come on, we NEED to get some food or I am going to perish." Peter gasped, dramatically clawing for air.
