"Everything looks healthy," the doctor declared, a warm smile on her face. Laura let out a sigh, closing her eyes as a smile crossed her face. "How're you feeling?" the woman asked.
"Good. I'm okay," Laura said.
"You seem nervous."
"I am. I've never done this by myself before," Laura said.
"Oh?"
"My husband was with me when our daughter was born. This is just taking more time to get used to than I originally planned," Laura said.
The doctor offered another smile. "Everything will be fine. This is the best hospital in this state, especially for babies. We make it as stressless as possible," she said.
"Thank you," Laura said quietly.

Clawd let out a low growl as he brought his hands up by his face. Heath smiled. "Now." Clawd grunted, delivering a hard punch to the gym bag in front of him. Punch after punch, kick after kick, he went on for almost ten minutes. Heath held the bag back and shook his head. "That's enough."
Clawd's breaths were short as he stared as his best friend. "I ain't done."
"Yeah, you are," Heath said simply. "I know you're mad that you can't find her, okay? But it's been months. Stop beating yourself up about it."
"It ain't 'cause I can't find 'er. It's 'cause the news -- the world -- thinks she's dead," Clawd said. "And Lucas is lettin' it happen. That ain't right."
"Well, we can't do anything about it," Heath said. Clawd let out a long sigh. Heath was right. "Come on, bud. Let's go get a drink."
