Chapter Thirty-Six

Vladimir had ordered Rusty's death. With him gone, Caleb, Laura, Kaylee, and Kaden were safe. The mafia fell apart without Rusty, not that anyone was complaining.

The press had left the family alone after a whole month of practically stalking them.

Kaylee had started school again, finally returning to her friends.

Laura and Caleb were happy. They had certainly had their ups and downs, but they were happy. They loved each other with all they had to offer, and that was really all that mattered.

Clawd hadn't exactly gotten over his infatuation with Laura Rainshot, but he knew that she was Caleb's woman. They belonged together. It was fate, maybe destiny. Either way, they were meant for each other. Clawd understood that, respected it.

Lucas had given Laura and Caleb their jobs back as if they had never left. That station needed them, anyway. No one was really willing to part with them.

In the end, everything worked out for the best.
