Gianna's POV
Derick and I walk up to 42nd Street Pizza for our meal before we do anything else. We both ordered some pizza, which was pretty good. Derick paid, as usual, but I left a tip for the very nice waitress.
We hung out by the pier for a little bit until he pulls two tickets from his pocket for the Harbor Lights Circle Line Cruise.
Taking his hand, I lead him toward the boarding area. I hear an iPhone camera click and I turn my head to see that Derick had taken one of those pictures where I'm leading him somewhere.
"Did you really?" I ask him, giggling.
"I really did, kitten." He answers, pulling me back gently and kissing me on the head.
We board and decide to head to the bar area to pick up something to drink.
Since I'm not of age to drink, Derick decides against getting anything, even though I told him that I really didn't care.
I settled on a Shirley Temple while Derick decided on an Arnold Palmer, both of which are non-alcoholic. I actually managed to pay for mine without Derick trying to stop me, that's a first.
Once we get our drinks, we decide to head up to the upper deck. Once there, we sit and I rest my head on Derick's shoulder and he wraps his arm around me. I start to shiver a little bit and he takes off his sweater and drapes it around me and pulls me closer to him.
I sit up a little bit and push my arms through the sleeves of the sweater before pulling out my phone to take a picture of the city lights. I post it to Instagram, tagging Derick, and captioning it "Just another cool kid in NYC 🗽".
I rest my head against his shoulder again and we stay like that until the boat docks and we head back to the car, as my hip starts hurting a little and we don't have any of my painkillers on us.
We slide into the car and I plug my phone in, putting it on shuffle and the first song that plays is Out Tonight from Rent, which Derick coined as "my song" because my voice works with it VERY well.
"Why don't we just stay at your apartment tonight? I mean, we're closer." I ask him after the song ends.
"Because you don't have your painkillers and frankly, your bed is more comfy." He chuckles, turning the song back up.
It's our song.
"Find You" covered by Alex Goot and Against The Current.
He takes my hand in his and kisses it, at a red light, of course, and rests them on the glove compartment.
I grab my phone and put on the playlist of songs that my viewers have said that they relate to us, which I find really sweet.
The first song that plays is "Once In A Lifetime" by Landon Austin, a song that I have covered previously.
"This is the song that I've wanted to dance to at my wedding since I heard it." I say, breaking the silence.
I catch Derick smirk out of the corner of my eye. I roll my eyes at him and lean back in the seat slightly.
I turn my head to face the city lights that we are driving away from and take another picture through the rear view window, posting it to Instagram, tagging the boyfriend, and captioning it "Time's forever frozen, still".
The next song that comes on is Photograph covered by Sam Tsui and Kurt Hugo Schneider, which is where I grabbed my caption from.
I hobble my way into the bathroom and do what I gotta do, as well as take a couple painkillers. Once that's done, I hobble into my room and shrug Derick's sweater off my shoulders and rest it on a chair before making my way into my "studio" to figure out a way for me to rewrite the sheet music to my next cover, "Only One" by Yellowcard.
I wouldn't have ever thought to cover this song, but since I got enough requests from Twitter, I decided that it would be a good idea.
"Whatcha up to, sweetheart?" I hear Derick say, leaning against the doorjam.
"Working on the next cover, why?" I tell him, turning to face him.
"I'm lonely," He says, pouting and pulling the puppy eyes on me.
"This could wait until tomorrow to finish." I say, laughing before making my way to him.
We make our way into my room and begin watching Jacksepticeye's simlulator videos and laughing the night away.
At around 11pm, I climb out of bed and over to my dresser and pulling out a light blue slouchy long sleeve sleeping shirt that says "If you can hear the people sing, it's probably me and musical geek friends" written in a darker blue and a pair of black Yellowcard pajama shorts. I change into that, fully aware that Derick was in the room with me and not really caring, and pull off my bra while I'm at it.
I lay back down with Derick and rest my head on his shoulder while he rests my laptop on his lap.
We spend the rest of the night like that before mutually deciding to get some sleep at around 6am.
