Derick's POV
If I said that I didn't think Ryan's sister was amazing, I would be lying. She is everything a guy like me could ask for, but her brother is the captain of my hockey team. If he found out about the feelings that I am developing for her, he would have my head on a plate.
We drive to MSG and upon arrival, we gather whatever we need from the car and walk into the arena. Even though I have been part of this club for two years, I still get mesmerized every time I walk in, I guess it truly is "The World's Most Famous Arena".
Ryan and I tell Gianna to chill in the hall for a second while we put our stuff down.
"Derick, I know you like my sister. I don't want you two dating as of yet, wait until she settles in. Meaning wait about 6 months to a year before asking her out. I'll be pissed if anything happens before then, understood?" I hear Mac say from behind me. I nod, not saying a word in protest.
6 months to a year? No way in hell could I do that.
I offer to walk Gi up to the WAGS box, the Wives and Girlfriends box, which she politely accepts, and Mac approves of it. I guide her through the twists and the turns of the hallways up and out of the tunnel to get onto the ice.
I lead her up the stairs and up the many escalators, which are off, to the suite level.
As soon as we are up there, I show her around the level, showing her where the bathroom was, the emergency exit, the snack venues, etc. were.
We had some conversation, mainly her asking what life in New York is like. I told her it is great. The bright lights really do inspire whatever you want to do. I couldn't tell her much about the outskirts where her brother and sister-in-law live full time but from what I do know, it's amazing out there too.
Now was the time that she had asked something crazy.
"Brass? Can I have your number? I know my brother would probably go batshit but you seem like a really great person to have around. I want to get to know you better," she says, catching me off guard.
According to her brother, she is not very open to new people.
"Of course, Gianna. Don't worry, your brother won't go all ape-shit on me if we hang out, hell, I'll give you a tour of the city. How does that sound?" I offer.
"Sounds like a plan to me!" She says, excitedly.
I hand her my phone as she hand me hers. I type in my number, put my contact name as "Brass the Tour Guide" and take a ridiculous selfie and set it as my contact picture before I hand her back her phone.
Oh this is going to be a lovely lovely friendship.
