The next two weeks seemed to go by in a blur. I was almost glad that this summer season at camp was coming to an end. There were a lot of new campers this year, which meant a lot of new injuries. Will barely left the infirmary all summer long, except to sleep and his one day off every other week. I don't know how he kept up with teaching and healing all summer long. Our only time together during the day was when I took his food to him. My man at least would take a brief break to have a meal together with me. Most nights he didn't come back to the cabin until it was bedtime. I don't know where he found the energy to keep up with it all, just watching him made me tired. One thing I did admire, Will spent every moment he could with me. Even if it was just holding me, watching T.V. for 30 minutes before bed, he made the effort every night. My baby meant everything to me and I was going to support him in every way that I could.
The day we played volley ball, I was so glad Will stopped me from using my dark powers. If he wouldn't have rushed over and started taking care of my nose, I'm pretty sure that I would have summoned an army of skeleton warriors. I'm not sure why, but at the moment I was overwhelmed with complete rage. The only reason that I even hesitated was because of my man. Will was really proud of me for taking my shirt off during the game. I didn't really want to, however, it was really hot and I was soaked. I wasn't ashamed of my body anymore, I just preferred to reserve it for my husband.
The Monday after the volley ball game started the last week of classes for the summer. The injury rate had declined over the weekend, so I was finally able to spend some time with Will in the evenings. We were able to actually have dinner together at the dining pavilion all week. As much as I hated to say it, I actually missed going to the camp fires too. If Will couldn't make it to the camp fires, I just went back to the cabin and lounged on the couch until he got home. It was kind of nice to be there with him all week long. He would sit beside me with his arm wrapped around me singing right along.
That Sunday, Will had switched around the schedule so he could spend the day with me. Still being the head counselor for the Apollo cabin, he could do about anything he wanted. Another week and he would be turning that privilege over to someone else. We had stayed up way too late the night before watching some horrible zombie movies that Will found on Netflix. I could have had a real life zombie fest right outside the cabin that would have been better than those movies. Just spending time with him though was enough for me. Needless to say, we slept in that Sunday morning. When we woke up, it was just after 12p.m. We scrambled out of bed, showered, and got dressed quick. Both of us were hungry and the Sunday brunch was our favorite meal of the week. We got to the pavilion around 12:30. After making our sacrifices, we both dined on hamburger steaks, eggs, and home fries.
Will had grabbed our towels and a change of clothes on our way out of the cabin. After brunch we headed off to the beach. When we got there, I took off my shirt and my baby lathered me up in sunblock. He played in the water, while I laid on the beach. After hanging out on the beach every other weekend all summer, I was actually getting a little bit of a tan. Finally, deciding my skin had enough of the sun, I went into the water to join my baby. I still wouldn't go into the ocean much further than up to my waist. Occasionally, I would drop down into the water until it was up to my neck. When there was a wave coming, I would jump right back up. It was starting to get close to dinner time. Will came up to me, his body gleaming in the salty water. He gave me a hug in the sound and we kissed with the waves washing over us. After we got out of the ocean, we both dried off and changed. Will, of course, just stripped down and changed right out in the open. I was going to wait until he held a towel around me like he usually does, but I threw caution into the wind and stripped right on the beach. There wasn't a soul, not even a dead one, close to us. The only thing that worried me was Will's reaction. I was afraid he would jump me right on the beach. I could tell that he liked what he saw from his physical response, however, he just smiled and got dressed.
