Rachel

Reyna and the others had been gone for a week now.  I've been missing her since the day that they left.  Preparations for the attack had been continuing just as Reyna had explained to Frank.  She really was a great military strategist.  Frank had been executing her plan to every exact detail.  He was no Reyna, but he commanded the Legion with almost the same confidence as her.  I had spent the time since she left with Ella.  We continued working on the Sibylline Scrolls, hoping to find something else that will help with the battle.  Working with Ella could be trying at times, but she was really fun to work with.  Every time I said something, Ella would finish my sentence off with something out of some book that she had read.  The vast amount of knowledge in her mind still amazed me.

Jason and Piper had arrived from Camp Half-Blood the same day that the others left for their quest.  As Pontifex Maximus, Roman high priest to the Gods, Jason was technically the highest ranking member of the Legion.  However, he let Frank run the show and helped out wherever he could.  For some reason though, I still felt better once Jason was here.  Piper was spending most of her time helping Hazel get her Cohort ready.  After the doomsday meeting, Reyna thought it would be best to keep Percy in hiding.  She was hoping that if she kept him somewhere safe, Hyperion might not notice that he was here.  Reyna had a secret plan that only a few members of the Legion knew about.  They made their preparations at night to avoid being seen.

Today, I was working with Annabeth, making plans with Camp Half-Blood.  We were using the main office at the Principia.  Chiron was afraid that the attack on New Rome might be a diversion and the Greek camp might get attacked as well.

"I'm sorry Annabeth, I wish that I could more."  Chiron said, "New Rome already has most of our best campers, however, I will make a few calls and see if I can pull in some favors.  I'll let you know if I come up with anything."

"Thank you Chiron for trying to help us out.  Anything else that you could do would be greatly appreciated.  I hope to hear from you soon."

"Take care, my great heros."

Annabeth waved her hand through the mist and ended the iris-message.  She sat back into her chair with a look of disappointment on her face.  I walked over to her and put my hand on her shoulder.

"We'll still be OK Annabeth, thank you for trying though."

"I know we will Rachel, Chiron just has me irritated.  He is being such a horse's ass about this whole thing.  If this situation was reversed, Camp Jupiter world send reinforcements in a heartbeat."

Neither of us noticed Jason walk into the room and up behind me.  "Of course he's being a horse's ass, Chiron is three quarter horse.  Besides, we will be more than ready to defend the city by ourselves.  A little extra help would be nice, but we'll be perfectly fine without it.  Although, I would fell a lot better if the others would get back from their quest soon."

Suddenly, I got hit with a wave of emotion.  I could feel myself starting to cry, but I tried to hold back the tears.  It was as if the whole week of worrying about Reyna overwhelmed me all at once.  Out of nowhere, Jason put his arms around me and gave me a hug.

"They'll be alright Rachel; Reyna has the best two demi-gods suited for this quest with her.  I know that Will and Nico are going to take good care of her."

It wasn't until the tears started to stop that what Jason had said started to sink in.

"Wait, you know?"

"Call it, Son of Jupiter intuition.  Don't worry Rachel, your secret is safe with us."

To top this moment off, Frank, Hazel, and Piper picked now of all times to walk into the room.  As if I didn't feel bad enough already, this wasn't how I wanted everyone to see me.  Piper walked over to us, I was worried about how she was going to react.
