Look my way

The cafe was busy for a Thursday night, and i couldn't help but wish for 10:00 to come faster.

I walked around to the tables, picking up cups and wiping down the tables. Christmas lights hung all around, despite it being Fall, and it seemed to give off a romantic haze. Allowing couples to snuggle closer, wanting to feel each other near.

A chill from the door opening, ran though the room and i glanced up from the table i was cleaning. Ms. Earhart didn't see me, but instead looked at a table in the corner, which was surrounded by windows. Making it easier to see the rain just outside which had started right after i got here.

Castiel turned on a lamp behind me and i turned to face him. "She's pretty." He said gesturing to her with a tilt of his head. "Yeah i guess. She's the new Freshman English teacher. I'm her peer buddy for last two classes. He wriggled his eyebrows at me and i rolled my eyes. "Whatever. I'v officially given up the pursue of women. It just never works out. I'll just stick to what i know.. Men." I shrugged my shoulders and laid the cloth on the counter beside me. " Besides, she's not even my type."

He laughed loud enough to cause a few tables to look at us, including hers and said," What? Older, independent, gorgeous, and loves English . Since when is that something you're not attracted to?" I shook my head. "I don't know. I guess, i'm just tired of constantly being disappointed in what happens."

"Can i help you?" I turned to look at who Cas was talking to and felt a blush creep across my cheeks. "Yeah, red wine." Cas nodded and went to fetch a wine glass. "So, this is where you work? Do you like it?" She asked softly, leaning in. Almost at the same level as the couples who sat around us. Close enough to whisper, but not to kiss. "Yeah, it's nice. I basically work whatever hours i want to, and it's close enough to the house that i don't need to worry about working late."

Cas returned with the glass of wine and handed it to her. "Will that be all?" I asked slowly. Not wanting to end our talk. "For now." That was all she said before walking back to her table. I watched her lean in close to the guy she sat beside and whisper in his ear. He kept his expression blank, and glanced in m direction. I quickly looked away to make it seem like i hadn't been watching, which i had, and began to clear off the counter. "Hey, want me to close up tonight? I know you had that project you've been working on."

I smiled broadly at him. "Really? Cas that would be amazing." I wrapped my arms around him and he laughed. "And if you need help i can stop by when i get off. Maybe have a few drinks to make the night move quicker." I smirked. "I like the way you think. However, let's skip the work and just throw an end of the year party. Just a few of us and i can get some friends to bring stuff with them." He nodded excitedly. "This is going to be great."
