I could feel her watching me. The burn in my cheek made me look away all together. "Is that all for today? "
After class grading took maybe 45 min Every day but today i just couldn't do it. Couldn't take the silence that wrapped around us like a ribbon pulled too tight.
As of today we are 4 days from break and iv decided to start planning for a trip away. Still have no clue where to even start I just know it needs to be away, like away-away.
"Yeah, the rest can be finished up tomorrow. Is everything alright?" She looked concerned but I could care less, or at least I had to try not to care. I only flipped my bag over my shoulder and shrugged. "Fine. I'll see you tomorrow."
Tonight's main plan will be the party, something that gives a slight twist of excitement that now has me walking down the hall smiling like an idiot so I closed my eyes, took a breath and dialed the number.
"Hey, I was wondering if you wanted to come by a party tonight with Mel and I? I'm thinking an 8 of you'd like to join."
There was only a slight pause before I heard the quick voice that belonged to the guy who truly gave my confidence back to me after I started getting the dreams. It turns out of you speed hard enough, sleep is something of a non issue.
His yes was excited and I found myself smiling again as I hung up and drove to my house.
Mel sat on the counter in the kitchen with her legs crossed and half a beer in her hand.
"So I'm definitely ready to find myself a nice hot redhead, what are your plans for the night?"
I laughed and pulled a beer out for myself. "That would be a good question with an even better answer. I do happen to have party favor on the way with the gayest straight guy ever and it will be plenty. "
Her eyes shot open and she hopped off the counter. "Time to get ready??"
