Chloe's P.O.V.
I was running in the woods. My feet were carrying me, fast. I don't know what I was running from, but I could hear it screaming at me. It must've been a person.
My heart was beating wildly. I was scared. Whatever was behind me, must be trying to hurt me. I glanced behind me. Heather was the one coming after me. She was carrying a whip, yelling for me to stop running from her. I didn't stop. I just ran faster. My feet didn't carry me far, but far enough that I could stay ahead of Heather.
I looked back to the rode in front of me. All I saw was trees, and trees. I looked back behind me, Heather was gaining on me.
All of a sudden I tripped on a log. The forest vanished. I was falling off a ledge. I looked up, Heather was standing on the ledge, smiling that I was falling unto rocks. I looked down. I screamed.
I woke up with a hand over my mouth. I breathed. It was Brandon.
"Sorry, I didn't want you to wake anyone else up." He said, taking his hands off my mouth.
I smiled at him. "It's okay, bud."
"Why were you screaming?"
"I was having a nightmare."
"What was it about?"
"I was falling off a cliff into some really sharp rocks."
"Did I save you?"
"Yes, Brandon. You saved me."
He was so cute, with his brown eyes, and brown hair. I was glad he was my brother, I know Lucas didn't care, but somewhere deep inside his heart, he loved his brother. Lucas started hanging out more with Brandon when we moved here. Then Lucas left.
"Chloe?"
"Yeah?"
"Is Lucas coming back?"
"I don't know at the moment. He's trying to figure things out."
"Why did he leave?"
"He has to take care of Becca."
"Why? Becca's old enough to take care of herself."
"Becca's pregnant. Lucas is the father."
"Oh."
Brandon was charming at times, but he could also get into his older side. He could become insensitive and annoying. Usually he was nice though.
"Chloe, why do you have bruises on your arms?"
I didn't notice I was wearing a short-sleeve shirt. Brandon could see the bruises.
I studdered. I couldn't tell him. Brandon was young, but he could be tough just like Lucas. I didn't want him to hurt Heather. I don't know what she would do. Plus, the chances were, Brandon would end up getting hurt. He cared about me. There was no doubt he'd try to defend me. I couldn't let anything happen to him. I deffinately didn't want him to lose control.
"Chloe?" Brandon asked. He was trying to get me to tell him.
Juliana came in the room. I sighed. She practically saved me.
"Chloe, I think we should start getting ready for school."
I mouthed a thank you to her, as she shooed Brandon out. She smiled, saying your welcome. She went out of the room with Brandon.
I got up, and rushed to my closet. I put on some black skinny jeans, a grey t-shirt, and a purple jacket. I slipped some converse on. Then I put my hair in a simple pony tail. I practiced my smile in the mirror. I tried pasting a fake smiled on my face, but the smile just reappeared. Lucas texted me.
