Birthday pt.2 | 21

Before I got ready I decided to eat, I made a cup of noddles because I didn't want to ruin my appetite for the dinner Kian's taking me to so I ate something small. I went up to my bedroom to listen to some music and finish my food. It didn't take me long but now I need to hurry because it was now 6:19, so I went downstairs and got the outfit the Emma got me and took it to my room. Quickly I changed and headed to the bathroom. I played my "Current Favorites" playlist on Spotify and started to redo my hair because the waves were falling out. As I was singing along to the songs that were playing Ashley came in and smiled at me. I turned towards her and turned down the volume so I could hear her talk.

"Damn girl!" She laughed.
"Thanks." I smiled brightly.
"Are you excited for tonight?" She asked.
"Hell yeah." I couldn't wait.
"Kian really likes you, Trevor told me he never stops talking about you."
I blushed, "Yeah, I really like him too."
"Well, I'll let you get back to your jam session" she winked and left.

I turned my volume up and resumed. A few minutes passed by and I was done, it was now 6:34. There wasn't much left to do so I redid my makeup too which took about 5 minutes. Still about 20 minutes to go. I went into my room and continued to listen to music. My phone started to ring, it was Kian.

"Hey." I smiled.
"Hey birthday girl."
"What's up buttercup?" I laughed.
"Just checking in."
"Oh ok well I'm all ready."
"Alright me too."
"Good."
"How was the pier?" He asked.
"It was..." I paused, " fun."
"Well I hope tonight will be funner."
"Me too." I sighed and laid on my bed.
"Since we're ready do you want me to start heading over?"
"The sooner the better."
"Ok I'll be right over."
"Ok bye love y-" I stopped myself.
There was a silent pause.
"Sorry, it's a habit." I assured him.
A sigh escaped his lips, "It's ok." He laughed.
"Ok." I smiled.
"Bye." I hung up and face palmed myself.

My music began to play, I grabbed my pursed and put my camera in it, everything else I needed was already in there. I went downstairs to get my shoes and then back into my room. Tonight will be amazing. 6:44, Kian's car pulled into the driveway. I walked downstairs and opened the door. He was wearing a plain black shirt with green army pants, and black vans.

"Gemma..." He smiled, " you look beautiful."
"Stop." I looked down and blushed.
He came closer and lifted my chin, "You do," and he smiled.
I smiled, "Thank you." He kissed my forehead and I hugged him.
"Wait right here."
He went to his car and came back with a red rose and a small box.
"This is for you." He handed me the rose.
"Thank you."
"And so is this." He handed me the box, "Open it."
I slowly opened it. It was a small, gold, heart-shaped necklace with emerald rhinestones around the edges.
"Kian." I looked at him.
"You don't like it?" His expression changed, "we can go return it and then yo-"
I cut him off, "I love it," I assured him.
"Really?" He smiled again.
"Yes." I put it in his hands.

He came behind me and I placed my hair to the side so he could put it on me. Once it was around my neck I placed my hair back to where it was.

Kian wrapped his arms around my waist and kissed my shoulder. I turned to face him and put my arms around his neck to place a kiss on his lips.

"Thank you."
"Well it is your birthday." He grabbed my hand and we walked out.

+After Dinner+

"That was great."
"I'm glad you liked it."
"Of course I did."
"Do you still want to go to downtown Disney or would you rather wanna come over?"
"Well..." I thought about it, "let's go to your place," I smiled.

Kian held my hand as we drove and we made small talk. Dinner took us an hour so it was only 8, the night was still young. Kian's house was 30 minutes away so I fell asleep on the way there.

"Gemma." Kian whispered as he lightly shook me.
"Yeah?" I mumbled.
"We're home." He checked his phone.
"Home?"
"Yeah, come on."
"Ok." I yawned and got up.
"You ok?"
"Yeah," I stretched and started walking.
"So how's your day been so far?"
"Amazing, I'm just glad to be 18."
"Good, I'm glad I could spend it with you." We stopped on his doorstep.
"Me too," I smiled and kissed him.
"Come on," Kian put his arm around me and unlocked the door.

He switched the light on and smiled at me.

"Ready?"
"For what?" I asked.
"SURPRISE!" Everyone yelled.
"Fuck!" I jumped, "Oh my god!" I laughed at my reaction.
"Happy birthday Gemma!" My friends hugged me.
"Aww thanks you guys." I smiled.
"It was all Kian's idea." Jc shouted over the crowd.
I turned to Kian, and he smirked, "Happy birthday."
"I don't know how many times I've said thank you to you today," I laughed.
"Enough times, come on let's celebrate!" He yelled and everyone started dancing.

Music started playing and party lights were lit up. Kian led me to the dance floor and we started to dance. It was already getting hot so Kian went to go get some drinks. People kept bumping into me so I left the dance floor and went after Kian. I couldn't find him anywhere. I looked in the front yard, the backyard, the kitchen, the dance floor, the bathroom, and the living room. The only place left was his room and Jc's room. I went up to his room and heard something. I listened closer and heard a girl's voice. There was a lump in my throat, but I had to see who. I opened the door slowly and he was hugging a girl. I couldn't see her face but she was crying. She moved her hair out of her face but she didn't see me, it was Caroline. My stomach was hurting and I felt sick. I closed the door a little so they couldn't see me. She pulled away and looked at him.

She sniffled, "Kian?"
"Yeah?"
"Thank you so much."
"For what?"
"For everything." She gazed into his eyes.
"Oh." He looked at her.
She moved closer to him,"You're really great."
"Thanks." He looked down at her.

The way he talked to her was different than the way he talked to me. I could feel tears coming on but I tried to stop them.

"I love you Kian."
"I love you too."

It was quiet. The words started to sink in and my heart sank. The words cut into me like a knife and a few tears escaped my eyes.

She kissed him and he kissed back for a moment. This is when I realized I couldn't control my tears now. He pushed her.

"No!"
"Kian."
"Caroline I'm not going to do this."
"What?"
"I have Gemma."
"You've already kissed me, you're already guilty." She smirked, that bitch.
"No I-I should go, I don't want you living with us anymore sorry Caroline."

Kian opened the door and saw me, so did Caroline.

"Oh wow." Caroline smiled.
"Gemma." Kian looked at me.

I opened my mouth but nothing came out. That was because I had no words for what just happened, just emotions. I just stood there and cried.

"Gemma please say something." Kian's eyes were getting teary.

I looked at him and ran downstairs, I could here his footsteps running after me. I rushed to the dance floor and grabbed Isabella. She looked at me confused but then she saw the tears on my checks, before she could say anything I led us outside to the pool.
