(Flashback to April 1973)

"Oh my God..." Said Twiggy, who was listening to David Bowie's song 'Drive-In Saturday'.

In the chorus, he says "and she'd sigh like Twig the Wonder Kid, and turn her face away." Which is a direct reference to Twiggy, and she was shocked.

"David Bowie just mentioned me in his song!" She shouted with joy. But she just had to make sure it was really true. She drove to the local record shop and picked up a copy of his album Aladdin Sane once she heard news of its release. When she got home she put it in the turntable and waited for the song to come on again. She was starstruck, so much that she laid there on the floor and listened to the whole album. It was in that moment that she became an even bigger David Bowie fan.

(September 1973)

Twiggy was in her apartment one afternoon until the phone rang. She got up to answer it. "Hello?"

"Twiggy?" A voice asked, it was her manager, Dennis Marshall.

"Yes?" She replied.

"Oh do I have news for you! But this is totally up to you." He said.

"What is it?" She asked.

"I just received a call from David Bowie's manager, asking if you'd be available for an upcoming project of his. A Photoshoot for English Vogue, in Paris! He and you would be on the cover!"

"What!" She squealed. She couldn't believe it, first the song, and now this? She was going to pass out.

"This is so incredible! But wait a minute! I just did Vogue back in December!"

"So what, this is David Bowie we're talking about, once they see you two together they have no choice but to go with it. This is too good an offer."

"Oh whatever, of course I'll do it!" She said jumping up and down.

"I'll let them know immediately. They expect us to arrive in Paris next week."

They hung up and Twiggy began screaming and dancing around her apartment. She could not believe what would take place. She would be in the same room as David Bowie, she would talk to him. It was all so crazy.
