The first thing Twiggy did when she woke up was think to call David. She wanted to thank him for her birthday present. She didn't even think he would remember her birthday when she told him at dinner, he really did care didn't he?

She dialed his number on her phone and waited for him to pick up.

"Hello David?"

"Yes."

"Oh thank God! It's Twiggy! I was calling to tell you I received my present from you yesterday and....I love it. I cannot believe you sent me the album! It looks so great! Thank you so much."

"I figured it would make you happy to see it, I knew you couldn't wait until it released next month, and I wanted to get you something for your birthday." He said.

"I can't believe you remembered my birthday."

"Of course I did! You didn't think I was going to forget about you like that, did you?"

"No, I suppose not."

"Tell you what, I was just on my way to the studio to record a few songs for Diamond Dogs, would you want to come check it out?"

"I'd love to! Sounds exciting!"

David told her where the recording studio was and then they hung up. She immediately had breakfast and began getting ready. She put on a green peasant top tucked into a pair of bell bottom jeans with a brown belt and her brown sandals. She did her hair down the middle again and braided the two front pieces. One thing she really admired about being with David was how easy it was to talk to him, easier than she thought. When she first sees him, she gets incredibly self conscious. But once she's with him and conversing, everything is very relaxed and simple. Once she arrived at the booth where David and his crew were recording he introduced her to everyone. The mixers, the back up singers, the bassist, the drummer, and Mick Ronson. "So nice to meet you Twiggy." Said Mick.

"Mick and I have been each other's chums ever since we first started working together." David said, throwing his arm around Mick.

"Yeah, when he's not sucking off my guitar or grabbing my arse on stage, we're pretty good pals from a distance."

They all laughed.

"It's for the fans! I only did it for the fans!" Said David, a little embarrassed by the memory of his onstage antics.

"Oh sure you did, sure you did!" Mick said.

"Alright then, let's get set up." David said.

Twiggy sat down with the mixers while David and the others got in the booth and prepared to record Sweet Thing. They put on their headphones and waited for the signal, then they began to play. Once they started, everything was so quiet. All Twiggy could do was sit and listen to David's eerie vocals and lyrics, the gentle voices of the backup singers, and the strangely soothing sound of the instruments. She was mesmerized.

"Like a portrait in flesh, who trails on a leash
Will you see that I'm scared and I'm lonely?"

His voice took a sudden powerful turn, like a hysterical cry for help. She didn't know that the song morphed into a second one called "Candidate" until one of the mixers told her, which she found interesting. This song was full of bizarre imagery and strange scenarios, one after the other. Then the music started to pick up as he continued singing.

"We'll buy some drugs and watch a band
Then jump in a river holding hands..."

David every now and then would look up from the lyrics and directly at Twiggy, which made her heart stop every time. It's like he was singing to her. It would break her mesmerization for as long as he looked at her. The song then went into a reprise of the first one, Sweet Thing.
