All Ron and Harry could talk about in the morning was what the trapdoor could have been hiding.
I ignored them, as if it wasn't for me telling them about it, they wouldn't have known about the trapdoor. Stupid unobservant boys is all they are.
Part way through breakfast, Harry received a parcel in the shape of a broom. I shook my head. Typical Harry being rewarded for his misbehaviour.
I looked over at Malfoy. He looked pissed off because Harry and Ron were still at school. Malfoy is a pompous brat who needs to get a life and be nice, I thought.
I finished my breakfast the same time as Harry and Ron. I let them go ahead of me and started to walk slowly to the dormitory to retrieve my books for class. Halfway up the entrance hall, they had stopped and Malfoy had Harry's broom. I stopped around the corner, not wanting to be seen and teased by Malfoy.
"That's a broomstick," he said, throwing it back to Harry with a mixture of jealousy and spite on his face. "You'll be in for it this time, Potter, first years aren't allowed them."
"It's not any old broomstick," Ron said, "it's a Nimbus Two Thou¬sand. What did you say you've got at home, Malfoy, a Comet Two Sixty?" Ron grinned at Harry. "Comets look flashy, but they're not in the same league as the Nimbus."
Of course Ron wouldn't be able to resist showing off, I thought.
"What would you know about it, Weasley, you couldn't afford half the handle," Malfoy snapped back. "I suppose you and your brothers have to save up twig by twig."
Before Ron could answer, Professor Flitwick appeared at Malfoy's elbow.
Oh good, they'll hurry up and leave now, I thought.
"Not arguing, I hope, boys?" he squeaked.
"Potters been sent a broomstick, Professor," said Malfoy quickly.
"Yes, yes, that's right," said Professor Flitwick, beaming at Harry. "Professor McGonagall told me all about the special circumstances, Potter. And what model is it?"
"A Nimbus Two Thousand, sir," said Harry, fighting not to laugh at the look of horror on Malfoy's face. "And it's really thanks to Malfoy here that I've got it," he added.
Harry and Ron headed upstairs, smothering their laughter at Malfoy's obvious rage and confusion. As they headed up the stairs, I quickly followed.
"Well, it's true," Harry chortled as they reached the top of the marble staircase, "If he hadn't stolen Neville's Remembrall I wouldn't be on the team. ..."
Omgosh. Harry. Behave. You're just as bad as people from my old school. They would bully me, and yet they'd get ice-blocks because they told the authorities that they had been bullied. I cant stand this anymore, I thought.
"So I suppose you think that's a reward for breaking rules?" came my angry voice. At this point I was stomping up the stairs, looking disapprovingly at the broom in Harry's hand.
"I thought you weren't speaking to us?" said Harry.
"Yes, don't stop now," said Ron, "its doing us so much good."
Ungrateful boys. I marched away with my nose in the air.
I didn't end up getting far... Malfoy had grabbed my bag and it broke.
"Hey Mudblood" he said.
"Go away Malfoy" I replied.
"No," he said, "I enjoy watching you suffer".
I stood up, leaving my bag on the ground.
"I thought that you think us 'Mudbloods' is filth. Why would you enjoy looking at filth? Is that your pastime? Looking at filth? If so, go have a look in the mirror" I snapped at him, before using magic to pick up my bag and its contents before running away in tears.
What a day! And it's only 7o'clock....am.
