Finally the train stopped, and we all got out onto a tiny, dark platform. Then I saw a lamp and a voice said loudly "Firs' years! Firs' years over here!" I went towards the lamp, which I assumed belonged to the person calling first years. When about 50 first years were gathered around the huge man holding the light, he said "C'mon, follow me - Any more firs' years? Mind yer step, now! Firs' years follow me!"
Slipping and stumbling, we followed the man down a steep, narrow path, which seemed to have trees on either side of it. Nobody spoke, but Neville did sniffle a couple of times - he still hadn't found his toad. After about five minutes of walking, the man called over his shoulder "Yeh'll get yer firs' sight o' Hogwarts in a sec. Jus' round this bend here". When we walked around the bend, the narrow path had widened, and we were suddenly on the edge of a huge black lake. Atop a high mountain on the other side was a huge castle, with sparkling Windows and many currents and towers. It looks better than the castle in Tangled, I thought. As I saw the castle, I gasped, and so did many others, and some even "Ooooh"ed.
"No more'n four to a boat!" the man called before pointing to a fleet of lil boasts sitting in the water by the shore. I followed Harry and Ron into a boat, which Neville followed me to.
"Everyone in?" the man asked - he had a boat to himself - before shouting "Right then - FORWARD!"
And then the boats moved off all at once, gliding across the lake. It looks like glass, I thought. Nobody spoke. We were all staring at the castle. Soon we were close the the cliff on which the castle stood. "Heads down!" the man yelled as the first boats reached the cliff. We all bent our heads and the boats carried us through a curtain of ivy, which hid a wide opening in the cliff face. Then we were carried through a dark tunnel, before reaching an underground harbour, before climbing out of the boats and onto rocks and pebbles.
I then saw Neville's toad, and so had the man, as he said "Oy, you there! Is this your toad?"
"Trevor!" Neville cried, before taking his toad.
We then climbed up a passageway, following the man's lamp, and we were suddenly on a patch of damp grads in the shadow of the castle. We walked up the flight of stone steps and crowded around the huge, oak front door.
"Everyone here? You there, still got yer toad?" the man asked before raising a fist and knocking three times on the castle door.
