It feels like my muscles are ripping themselves apart, like my bones are breaking on their own, like my skin is on fire. I scream, I scream louder than I've ever screamed before. I can't hear anything else, I can't feel anything else. It's like I can practically see the bright red hot fire of pain in my body. I don't think I can handle this any longer, I'm pretty sure I would rather just die.

I must've passed out because, when I open my eyes, it's morning. The birds are up, singing their own tunes, the sun makes a light pink color on the clouds. I can actually see off the path, and into the forest in the daytime. It looks peaceful.
I have no idea what happened last night. Did I even see that wolf? Or was I so tired I hallucinated? But, the thing is, I don't remember being tired. I left Madison's because I got sick...Oh. My. God. Madison! My parents! What happened when they didn't find me at home in my bed? Did they call the police? Are they looking for me now?
My thoughts get answered by a voice calling my name. I sit up. Did I imagine that unbearable pain last night? Because I feel totally fine now. What's going on with me?
"Celeste?!! Celeste??!..." The voice calls out again.
I get up on my feet. My head spins from getting up too quickly, and a wait a minute to adjust.
"I'm here!!! I'm OVER HERE!" I yell.
And, as if he appeared out of thin air, Colton was right by my side.
He looked at me, so relieved, he looked like he could do a back flip right there. "Where in the hell have you been all night?!" He's starting to get mad, I think. But why?
"Why are you even looking for me in the first place?" I ask.
"I volunteered to help look for you." He says "Along with a couple police officers and your parents."
Shit.
"Where are they?" I start to panic. "I, I don't know what happened to me--I was just walking and I saw this...um....animal and---I, I passed out I think---"
"Whoa, whoa, calm down..." He says gently. "It's going to be fine. We'll talk about this later."
Then, he picks me up without my permission, and walks down the path as if I weighed nothing. And, I don't know why, but I just start crying into his shoulder.
