"We taught you better than this!" Grandma yelled.
"Grandma, I can explai—" I froze upon seeing her fierce glare.
"If I were you I would keep your mouth shut, boy." Grandpa warned.
Mia's parents, who have kept quiet throughout the whole exchange, finally decided to speak up. "What exactly happened?" Mrs. Thompson asked.
Uncle Fred immediately turned back to 'Serious Headmaster' mode. He straightened up and cleared his throat before speaking. "Well you see...Mia and Blaze had a little accident during Chemistry period." he said, emphasis on the word 'accident'
"What kind of accident?" Mr. Thompson asked.
"An accident that will land them a week of detention." Uncle Fred said. "They blew up the lab during an experiment that involves Mentos and some Diet coke."
"Mia! Why would you do that?" Her mother asked, she didn't sound very mad; just very disappointed. She had her hands on her hips, lips curled up in distaste.
"Oh! Mrs. Thompson you shouldn't put the blame on your wonderful daughter, Mia," Grandma yelled, her voice getting louder and louder. "Because I am 100% sure it was Blaze's fault!" By the end of her rant, she held my left ear with her left hand.
"OWW! Grandma stop it!" I yelled. She let go of my ear and turned to Uncle Fred. "I highly recommend you to give Blaze detention for the rest of the year." she stated boldly.
"WHAT?" I yelled. "IT WAS AN ACCIDENT I SWEAR!"
Uncle Fred chuckled obviously finding the situation hilarious. "Don't worry Blaze, I'll let you off easy with a week of detention."
"What about Mia?" Mr. Thompson asked.
"Hm..." Uncle Fred placed his hands under his chin, while in thought. "I can let it slip since she's new."
"But Uncle Fr—" He gave me a stern look. "What have I told you about calling me 'Uncle Fred' when you're in trouble?"
I sighed. "Fine! Headmaster Anderson, don't you think it to be a little unfair for me to be the only one who gets a week of detention?"
"Well, you were the one who started the explosion." he said.
I grumbled once I realized that what he said was true. "Okay! Now that everything is settled, you can all go home."
Just as we were about to leave Mia called out, "Hey Jared, wait up! I wanna introduce you to my parents!"
"This is my mom, Melanie Thomson," she pointed to a middle aged woman who had blonde hair and blue eyes. "And this is my dad, David Thompson." her dad was tall, had brown hair and also had blue eyes.
"It's very nice to meet you, Mr and Mrs. Thompson." I said politely, sending a small glare at Mia for calling me Jared again.
"What a wonderful and beautiful daughter you have." Grandma cooed. "I bet you she'd break a lot of hearts soon."
"Very nice to meet you! I'm Laura Anderson and this is my husband, Michael Anderson." My Grandma said. She gave them her killer 100 watt smile.
"It's very nice to meet you as well." Ms. Thompson gave us a bright smile. "Why don't you come over for dinner?" Mr. Thompson asked.
