Harry and I where sitting in our room he was at the desk flipping through the picture book we got from Hagrid while I was reading my muggle books. As we did our own thing Opal and Hedwig started fluttering in their cages wanting to get out.
"We can't let either of you out." I said looking up at the birds
"We aren't allowed to use magic outside of school, besides if Uncle Vernon-" Harry got cut off.
"Harry and (Y/N) Potter!" We heard uncle Vernon yell.
"Now you've done it." Harry said getting up closing the memory book as I put down my muggle book getting up.
I held Harry's hand as we both headed downstairs to see aunt Petunia getting a cake ready and we paused, "He's in there." She said, "Vernon."
We both went and walked over to him, "I'm warning you if you can't control those bloody birds they'll have to go." He said
"But they're bored if we could only let them out for an hour our two-" Harry was saying
Our uncle laughed, "What do you can send secret messages to your freaky little friends no sir." He said
"But we haven't had any messages from any of our friends." I said
"Not one. All summer." Harry said
"Who'd want to be friends with you two." Dudly said hitting his shoulder against Harry's hard.
"I should think you'd both be a little more grateful we've raised you since you were babies given you the food of our table even let you have Dudly's second bedroom purely out of the goodness of our hearts." Uncle said
"Not now popkins it's for when the Maisons arrive." I heard aunt Petunia say as I turned looking at her.
"Which should be any minute. Now let's go over our schedule once again shall we? Petunia when the Maisons arrive you will be.." Uncle said
"In the lounge waiting to welcome them all graciously to our home." She said
"Good," Uncle said, "a-and Dudly you'll be.."
"I'll be waiting to open the door." Dudly said.
"Excellent and you two." Uncle said walking towards us
"We'll be in our bedroom making no noise and pretending that we don't exist." Harry and I said.
"To right you will with any luck this could well be the day I make the biggest deal in my career and you two will not mess it up." Uncle said
With that we headed upstairs to our room just as the door bell rang and I ignored any thing that was said downstairs. As we opened our door I couldn't help but stop and stare because on my bed there was a little elf thing jumping and laughing on it.
It stopped when it saw us and stared, "Harry and (Y/N) Potter such an honor it is." He said slightly bowing to us
"Who are you?" Harry said shutting the door quickly.
"Dobby sir, Dobby the house elf." He said
"Not to be rude or anything but this isn't a great time for us to have a house elf in our bedroom." Harry said
"O-oh yes sir Dobby understands I-it's just that Dobby has come to tell you it is difficult sir Dobby wonders where to begin." He said
"Why don't you sit down." I said
"S-sit down, s-sit down." The elf said before it started to cry
"Dobby shush she's sorry." Harry said
