It was a Charming just not THAT Charming

Many female students including myself (outfit 42) were all siting around on a mountain in "Damsel in distress" class. All the other girls were taking it way too seriously especially our teacher Maid Marian. At least my sister and Darling were here with me. We didn't want to be rescued we were gonna rescue ourselves. Besides what if we were IDK lesbians or something then we wouldn't have prince to rescue us. *Foreshadowing of Apple ish Darling gave her "the kiss of life" when Daring couldn't wake her with a kiss.... So I guess she could be Bisexual but they kind of implied she was into girls because it was "true love's kiss"*

Anyways our teacher was busy telling us that when our prince came to rescue us we'd have to look our best. Gag! Raven was saying as she and Apple started arguing again. We were so NOT gonna be worried about how our hair was gonna look if we were about to be dragon chow. The dragon wasn't gonna wait for us to primp before eating us. Apple cut her off said well I.... Before we heard a roar. It was the teacher saying it could've been a dragon if we weren't paying closer attention.

And then Apple actually asked a valid question. So looking demure and harmless is our first line of defense? She asked. But then Darling piped up saying.... Rule number 23: A damsel retains the element of surprise at all times. And she was always getting straight A's in this class but I guess like Clark Kent as Superman she had to uphold appearances and not draw attention to herself. Especially once she was told go get her brother Daring to play the hero of the story.

Raven and I both gave a dry yay. Ashlynn who has a boyfriend, Blondie, and Cedar all dreamily swooned his name. But it wasn't Daring that would be playing the hero. I watched as Darling snuck off when the teacher asked her to go get her brother she picked out her knight costume from a tree while the female narrator scolded her. Even though the Wonderland people and I were the only ones that could hear them.

What is Darling doing? She asked appalled. She's supposed to be finding the hero of the story. Like way to be feminist FEMALE narrator! Where's your girl power spirit?! Male narrator is kind of like the gay best friend always cheering us on to chase our dreams and #teamfreewill! I think she just did Male narrator and I said in sync as Darling put her helmet on. Back in class it was Raven's turn she was reading her boring lines from her boring script. The dragon for now was a mechanical one so she wasn't in any real danger.

Oh save me or whatever. She said dryly before asking if this kind of thing was gonna be on the midterm. Why in the world of EAH did they pick Raven to go first?! She then gets a notification on her mirrorpad that a real dragon was headed their way. A knight marches up the trail towards us just as the real dragon comes and blows fire at the mechanical dragon. The knight Darling charges in to fight the dragon Raven is impressed by who she really thinks is Daring.

But I knew those colors anywhere. It looked like a fierce dragon capable of hurting anyone but aw all this dragon really needs is a few treats and belly rubs to defeat it. Yes he does yes he does. See what had happened was. I thought this was how things were gonna go and I was not enthusiastic about going to this class. Northy had come in that morning like he did every morning to help me pick out my clothes finding me slumped over on the side of the bed.

What's wrong Onyx? He'd asked me. I have to go to this stupid damsel in distress class. At least Darling and Raven are there with me. But I don't want to be rescued I want to rescue myself. And even still my prince is not a prince. The only person I need to rescue me when its not me is you. I lean my head on my shoulder. What if there was a real emergency during class? He asked.

Like what? Well what is this class about anyways? Girls staying girls and waiting on a man to help her. Even though we know Darling Charming is the White Knight and pretends to be prim and proper. Her brother Daring that's dating Apple is supposed to be the next Prince Charming but he's not very good at it. I'd place my bets on Darling to save me out of the 3 of the Charming siblings. Likely we'd have a mechanical dragon during our lesson today about being saved from a big bad dragon.

Ok so what if I was that big bad dragon? He'd asked. You'd do that? You know you're gonna get like hurt right? I'll be ok as long as I have you to take care of me when it's over. Oh honey bunches of oats of course I would be. In sickness and in health my love. I held his head between my hands and kissed his nose. You said it yourself that Daring is really bad this so I most likely won't get hurt anyways. But what if Darling becomes the white knight in which case she is really goo at that kind of thing?

You have a point. Maybe you can talk to her and warn her and make her go easy on me. What if I cast a spell on you that when you breathe fire the fire is cold instead of hot and then you'll feel right at home. You could be like an ice dragon. With fire that looks hot. Awesome! I have the best girl friend in the history of the world. Oh honeysuckle I don't deserve you one bit. I brushed my nose against his. I love you. I love you more. He told me. I love you most. I cooed at him.

So, when Darling snuck away a couple mins ago to change into her knight costume I stopped her. Hey Darling. I started. Hi Onyx she greeted sweetly. What can I do for you? Can I be hextremely honest with you right now? Please don't try to deny it with me you're secret is safe with me and my boyfriend but we know you're the white knight and North Wind and I decided to make things more interesting in class today. "Real danger"

Ok and? Well we decided we wanted a real dragon to come to class. Ok I like where this is going. And see he's a shapeshifter and he said he wanted to be the "menacing" dragon in class today it will look hot and feel hot but it won't hurt him it will feel cold and he lives up in the clouds with Crystal and the ice king and ice queen with his twin sister Jackie Frost. So he'll be just fine. But I was hoping you could easy on him and make it look real but there still won't be real danger. You got it she winked at me. And Onyx? Thanks.

So now during that little flashback Northy and Darling were fighting and "Daring" aka Darling was saving Raven and everyone was really actually scared. Everything looked real and good it looked real good and then after a nice clean fight the dangerous dragon flew away. He did look hurt but it turned out he bit his tongue. My poor accident prone baby. I got him a popsicle to help sooth the pain when class was finished.

When the fight was over our teacher fanned herself like she was swooning. Saying how Charming he was and how he really lived up to his name. The knight saluted I winked at her. Back at school it was too bad Darling wasn't getting the recognition she deserved. All the girls gathered near Daring who was selfishly checking himself out in the mirror as he was lifted in the air and carried. And because Charming is stupid he asked what he missed this time and wanted people to watch out for the hair.

He turns to Darling who roles her eyes as he comments to her that this keeps happening more and more and he wasn't sure why but to be thankful she was just a damsel and see what "us" heroes had to put up with all the time? He was so full of himself. I sent her a little smile. Her knight costume was in her locker and she forgot to close it. You poor thing she giggled after him. Uh Darling? I warned her. Oh thanks. She shut it behind her. Oh well class dismissed. Said the female narrator.

Later in my room.... Oh North Wind. I called for him. As I stepped into my room when no one was around and shut the door behind me. Are you here? I have a treat for you my big brave dragon. I cooed. He flew in still in dragon form. Hi Onyx. He flew past me leaving a dragon flame pattern kiss on my cheek. Oh honey did you hurt your poor tongue? Say ah. Ooh ouch I'm sorry baby. I have something for you that will help.

We took off through the skies me on his back as we ate our popsicles. Whoo who I screamed in delight. Running my hand down his back. Is that Farrah Queen on the back of a dragon? The teachers all murmured to themselves in worry. The students looked out including Apple and Raven and all our friends. Oh that's not a real dragon Headmaster.

Apple shook her head. It's just my dorky little sister with her sweet as pie shapeshifting boyfriend. Hey Apple? Yeah? Are you thinking what I'm thinking? That we were never in any real danger during class today because Onyx's precious little bean of a boyfriend was the dragon we all saw today in class so there was never real danger to be had? Well at least we're on the page this time. Raven agreed as they smiled up at us. Think she's gonna be in trouble? Apple asked. Nah. Raven waved it off. We just told the Headmaster we weren't in real danger and my sister is safe no one was hurt no damage was made. We can just tell everyone else she's preparing for the Dragon Games... *Foreshadowing*
