Tonight, the Avengers tower was crowded with more people than you ever thought could fit. Loud music blared from a large pair of speakers and people laughed and drank to their hearts content.
Tony Stark was no exception. He sat at the bar drinking and having a good time. It was a good thing someone was. Unlike him, you were not fond of large gatherings but Steve Rogers (aka Captain America) had asked you personally to be there.
You had admired the man from afar until you'd bumped into him several months back. Since then you had trained and hung out with him when neither of you were too busy. You could never keep up with him during your workouts but that didn't stop you from trying.
It wasn't just him though. Tony had also asked you to come. You'd agreed quickly, momentarily forgetting just how big his parties usually were. Tony occasionally joined you and Steve and the three of you had become quite close over time.
You couldn't help but look over at Tony again. It was good to see him enjoy himself but you feared that he did this far too often and would make a fool of himself.
Steve came up behind you and tapped you on the shoulder. You turned and smiled. He in turn handed you a glass of water. "Thanks." You said as you took a sip.
You hesitated drinking since you had driven to the Tower and preferred to drive home unimpaired.
"Don't you think someone needs to cut off Tony before he gets too drunk?" You asked looking back over to Tony who had proceeded to stumble off his chair and was in the process of getting back up.
Steve nodded. "It may be his party but he won't be happy with the after effects."
"Let me do it. Maybe I can talk some sense into him."
"I doubt it but it's worth the try."
You pushed your way through the crowd towards Tony. When you reached him you tapped him on the shoulder. "I think it's time to stop."
"Of course not. Another round for everyone!" he spun back to the bar as a cheer erupted from the room. He picked up his half full glass and raised it in the air.
You grabbed the glass out of his hand. "I'm serious. I don't want you to hurt yourself."
"Hey!" He grabbed the glass and pushed you to the side. "I'll be done when I'm done." You stumbled but managed to retain your balance.
Seeing that you'd been pushed, Steve made his way through the crowd. "That was not a wise move." He grabbed Tony's glass and set it farther down the counter where Tony couldn't reach it.
"You know what, fine. I don't care. I'll be upstairs if anyone needs me." With that he stormed up the stairs.
"That was too easy." You stated suspiciously. You thought a moment before finishing your thought. "Doesn't he have more liquor upstairs?"
"Yes, I believe so. At least we tried. Who knows, maybe we did get to him."
~oOo~
Steve and you had agreed to meet at the Avengers Tower the next day to check in on Tony and apologize for upsetting him.
At 11 sharp, Steve rounded the corner and came towards you. You'd gotten to the Tower merely minutes before. You greeted him then rang the bell.
Upon receiving no answer, you and Steve walked right in. You rode up towards the top in the elevator. As it rose, you turned towards Steve.
"Thanks for coming with me. I care about him but I don't want to see him hurt himself but he can be impossible to reason with sometimes." You hesitated then turned and kissed him unsure of how he'd react.
To your surprise he kissed you back. The elevator suddenly stopped causing you to split apart. You glanced at him before looking towards the door waiting for it to open, your face beat red.
When they did you looked around for Tony. He was in his workshop when you finally found him.
"Hey Tony." He jumped realizing you were there.
He looked up and saw both you and Steve before looking back at the project in front of him. It seemed to be a robotic part. He pretended to be hard at work, although you could tell he had lost his train of thought.
"We came to apologize for last night. We should not have tried to stop you." Steve stepped forward so that he was standing behind Tony.
"We only stopped you because we care about you... a lot." You added stepping to the right of him.
Tony picked up a wrench and started twisting a bolt when Steve gently placed his hand over top Tony's, causing him to put it down. "What (y/n) says is true. We both care about you and don't want to see you get hurt."
"Please Tony, let us make it up to you. I don't have to be anywhere today so let's do whatever you want to do. I want things between us to be good again." You placed your hand on his shoulder.
He turned so that he could face both you and Steve, who still held his hand. Neither noticed but you did and smirked. "Thanks." He thought for a moment. "You said anything?"
You nodded your head, curious but worried about what he could want. "What about shawarma? I know a great place." You laughed, your worry had been for nothing.
"That sounds good." Steve said, smiling.
"I've got an idea. After shawarma lets come back here so we can make it up to you properly." You said, your face growing red again. There was something you had wanted to do but had been afraid of how they would react. Now seemed like an appropriate moment to bring it up, especially considering they still hadn't let go of each other's hands.
"What do you mean by that, (y/n)?" Steve asked.
"Well, I really like both of you, in more than just a friend way. And it appears that you may like each other too..." You gestured to their hands and they promptly let go, blushing slightly as they looked away.
Seeing their reaction you also looked away, embarrassed. "Sorry, I shouldn't have said anything."
You felt a hand on each shoulder. Looking up you saw one man on each side of you. "There's nothing wrong with trying new things." Steve assured you.
"Besides, you weren't the only one. Let's do this." Tony stopped himself and held up a finger. "But first, shawarma. I'm famished."
