"They always say time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself."

CHAPTER NINE

Arva ran to the pod, ignoring the shouts of strangers saying that she was invading. Her skin was covered with dirt and her skin was purple from the constant falling and tripping. Fresh blood was running down her leg and she dropped the stick as she ran inside the pod. She smiled at Octavia, before climbing up the ladder all the way up to the third level. Her eyes searched frantically and she turned around to see him. "Bellamy," Her voice cracked and the body turned around to face her. His eyes widened and he stood up, pulling her into a hug. She buried her head in the crook of his neck, leaving a single kiss against it. Arva pulled away, admiring his freckled face. Her fingers pushed aside his long hair, knowing that she'd cut it soon for the boy. Although, her face dropped when she saw Lincoln in the background. She walked over to him, grimacing in the fact that he was covered with dry blood.

"Who did this to him?" Arva whispered.

Bellamy didn't say anything.

"Did you do this to him, Bellamy?" Arva shouted, trying to clean Lincoln's cuts with a wet cloth. Bellamy stayed silent. Arva turned around, angrily at the tall man. Bellamy stared at her, he had a ton of questions running through his mind. He noticed that she wasn't wearing the usual clothes, she was wearing a dress that was torn apart and blood was running down her body. Bellamy wanted to know where she has been, why wasn't she the same girl, what happened to her smile, what happened to her light personality, what happened to her humanity and why did it get replaced with savage?

"Yes," was all that Bellamy said, maintaining eye contact with her. He knew once the words left his mouth, it would be a mistake. Bellamy deep down didn't want to do this to him, he just needed answers. His sister, his responsibility. Everyone assumed they know the feeling Bellamy carried around about his sister, but no one knew. No one had a sibling.

"Why would you do this? If you killed Lincoln the Grounders will kill you all and take me!" She screamed, causing Bellamy to flinch. He hasn't heard her scream like that in a few years. It was an uncomfortable feeling that lurked around on his skin. Suddenly the hatch opened, causing them both to see a boy climb through. He was wearing a beanie.

"Is that what you wanted? Do you want to die, Bellamy? Do you want all your people dead?" She continued to scream, with her voice cracking from lack of water and the brisk air.

"Hey, why is she cleaning this Grounder?" He questioned.

"Because I'm a decent human being." Arva grumbled. The boy grabbed her by the hair, pulling her back. Bellamy walked over to the boy, glaring at him.

"Leave her alone." His voice was low and the boy did as what was told. "I did it because he took my sister and Finn was going to die. You did it before."

"And you were more careful about your people than other people? If you want to be a leader, you think for both sides. You want the best, not the worst." Arva informed him before looking back at Lincoln. "I did it before? Yes, I did do it before, but I learned my lesson! I regret killing those guards, but I don't think they regret killing our baby!" Arva exclaimed.

"You both have burns on your shoulders, what does those mean?" Bellamy asked over a few moments of silence, choosing to ignore her yelling.

"The amount of people we killed on the field."

Bellamy's heart stopped when he realized the love of his life had more than Lincoln did. "At least I let him live." Bellamy mumbled and Arva chuckled, shaking her head.

"Bellamy, he is a healer. If you didn't let him live, the Grounders would take me and make me one of them forever. I made a deal with them." Arva tried to explain.

"They're just dangerous people."

"I'm one of them then. They helped me live. Without them, I'd be dead right now and I would have never been here, Bell."

"I'm aware, Arva."

Arva stopped what she was doing and she sucked on her lip before shaking her head. She felt like crying. She didn't know who Bellamy was anymore and Bellamy didn't know who Arva was anymore. They found love where it wasn't supposed to be. She cracked her knuckles and turned over to Bellamy.

"If I'm not wanted here, I'll go. I won't help you or any of your people here again." Arva's words were poison to Bellamy ears.

"You two are the enemy, we don't need any of your help."

And with that, Arva told Lincoln she'll be back soon in their language so Bellamy won't understand.

"I hope you remember me Bellamy Blake before you die." She shouted, climbing down the ladder.

~~~~~
The Grounder freaked out since Lincoln nor Arva was there to help heal. Arva explained the situation she was put into and lied straight through her teeth that she hasn't seen Lincoln. She got dismissed and she decided to get more food for her fire pit that keeps her warm during winter. The moss near an abandoned area burned easily and kept animals away. She walked over there carefully, then she heard someone talking loudly.
"Please, kill me." Bellamy mumbled.
"Kill me!" He shouted on his kneels and Arva frowned staring at him from a distance. She noticed another figure staring down at him. She had never seen the man before. Bellamy pulled out a pistol from his side, handing it to the man.
"I deserve it. Please." He said, looking up. Arva quickly dashed to the closer tree, not wanting to be heard. She was only curious why Bellamy was begging for someone to kill him. Arva felt a pang of guilt, curious if it was the reason why he was doing this was because of her. The stranger knocked him against the ground, causing him to grunt in pain.
"I can't fight anymore!" Bellamy cried, picking himself off the mud. Arva slowly stepped out, taking her sword out from her pouch.  Once she heard the gun cock, she ran out, holding the sword against the man's neck.
"Nothing personal." She muttered and the stranger started to freak out. Bellamy stared at Arva, she was unable to tell if he was shocked, glad, or just upset that Arva was going to kill again. She sliced his throat open, but in the process a gun fired off.
Arva gasped in pain and falls down with the boy, she stared up at the night sky, holding her hand over her wound.
"Arva!" Bellamy screamed, getting off the ground and running over to her. Clarke hand was clamp over her mouth as she dropped the gun and ran over to them both.
"I'm sorry--I thought she was the one trying to kill you. I heard the fight and I just thought someone was going to die and so I shot her. I didn't mean for this. I swear it wasn't meant for her." Clarke rambled as Bellamy held her in her arms.
"If I die, Bellamy. Remember me."
"I will never forget a girl who'd die for anyone. I love you Arva, even if you are the enemy."
