"You know how sometimes you tell yourself that you have a choice, but really you don't have a choice? Just because there are alternatives doesn't mean they apply to you."
CHAPTER TWO
Bellamy stared at Arva for a few moments, before he snapped back to reality. "We're stronger than you think, look at Arva. She's been living here for a while. Don't listen to her, she's one of the privileged. If they come down, she'll have it good. How many of you can say the same? We can take care of ourselves. That wristband on your arm? It makes you a prisoner. We are not prisoners anymore! They save they'll forgive your crimes. I say you're not criminals! You're fighters, survivors! The Grounders should worry about us!" Bellamy finished off, causing everyone to cheer. Arva stared at Bellamy, shaking her head. She noticed in the corner of her eye Clarke and Monty walking away. Arva decided to jog over there to catch up with them.
"The Grounders have been here since forever, they know the easiest way to kill. You need to convince people that or less your one-hundred people will drop down to zero." Arva grabbed her by the shoulders.
"Actually 98." Monty corrected Arva.
"Why are you telling me this? Why not everyone else? They'll believe you." Clarke retorted.
"Are you not the leader?" Arva shot right at her. Monty chuckled, running his hand through his messy dark hair. Clarke bit her lip, ignoring that answer.
"Let's go find Jasper." Clarke declared.
Arva didn't follow Clarke into their pod, instead she stayed there in the middle of everything. Someone grabbed her shoulder, out of reflex she grabbed the stranger's wrist, twisting it. A groan of pain escaped Finn's lips as she turned around and saw him. She dropped his hand, apologizing.
"Look, Arva, you have to stop Clarke from going." Finn begged Arva; she nodded her head, agreeing with him.
"It's a suicide mission. I love it." Arva chirped, causing Finn to frown.
"What? Are you at least going to help us?" He questioned, walking closer to Arva. She shrugged her shoulders, thinking about it. She had too many almost death experiences to be playing this game.
"Only if I can come to your grounds when there is an environmental issue." Arva raised her eyebrow. Her car was fine, but afterwards she'd feel sick from being stuck in there for so long. She wanted to walk around, not sit in a car seat for awhile.
Finn held out his hand. "Deal." Arva shook his hand with a grin. As Finn walked into the huge pod, her eyes landed on Octavia, with Bellamy fixing her leg. Arva played with the leafs in her pocket, walking towards her.
"What the hell was it?" Bellamy asked Octavia.
"I don't know. The others said it looked like a giant snake thing." She grumbled.
"Actually, like I said before, it was a Cottonmouth snake mixed with an alligator." Arva smiled slightly at them both, before pulling out of the medicine from her pockets, rubbing it on her cuts causing Octavia to gasp in pain; Arva ignored it.
"You could have gotten killed out there, Octavia." Bellamy shook his head in disapproval. Arva tried to ignored Bellamy as he talked to his sister like that. She yanked the cloth out of Bellamy's hands, wiping blood away, applying pressure to Octavia's wound.
"Arva--"
"Thanks to Jasper. If he hadn't jumped in and pulled her out, she'd be dead." Clarke interrupted Bellamy.
"Wait? Are you guys going now? I'm coming." Octavia said, trying to pull her pants up, but was only yanked back down by an amused Arva.
"No, no, no, you are not going. You need to rest." Arva informed her, rubbing her thumb against her arm. Bellamy stared at Arva, maybe for too long before agreeing; however, Clarke agreed with the slender girl.
