*Four years later*
"Do you think she'll find out?"
"Most probably, she finds out about everything."
"Where are the nuggets?"
"Wait, what? Dylan? What about the nuggets?"
"Harmony loves nuggets. I specifically asked for nuggets for her. Gods guys! Can't you get one thing right!?"
"Calm down Dylan, we'll get you the fucking nuggets!"
"No, I only want chicken nuggets thank you. No nuggets will be fucking with children around."
"Dylan, you are impossible."
"Shit! She's coming!"
"Hide!"
I walk into my apartment where I heard a load of noise to find it pitch black.
"Hello?" I speak out.
"Surprise!" Everyone shouts.
I cover my mouth with my hand and tears spring to my eyes. Today was my twenty-seventh birthday and I thought they had all forgotten.
When I say everyone shouted, I mean everyone. Theo and his girlfriend was here, Daisy, Derek and their three year old daughter Madelyn Rose Holland. Dylan, our son Dakota, Storm, Blake their one year old son Silas and Charlotte and Angelica.
There were a lot more people but they were the first one's I saw. I saw the gap at the end of the line of my friends and it brings tears to my eyes.
Last year, around Christmas, Jayke was on his way to my house to drop off the presents when he was caught in the middle of a crossfire. The funeral was held a couple of months after and his bastard of a father was granted the time to be present.
He was so much to me during my life, but the thing he had always been, even without me realising, was my brother. It turned out that they hadn't actually adopted me at all, but it still felt like Jayke was my big brother.
"You guys," I say, lost for words.
"Are amazing." Derek says.
"Awesome." Charlotte puts in.
"Supercalifragisticexpialidociois."
"Dylan? Seriously?" Derek says, rubbing his eyes with a pained look on his face.
He laughs and just walks over to me and gives me a kiss.
"How's thing two?" He asks, putting a hand on my bump.
"She is a little pain in the backside, just like you." I say.
"Fuck!" I hear a familiar four year olds voice shout.
"Dakota Matthew O'Brien!" Me and Dylan scold. Everyone turns towards the guilty toddler who is looking at the smashed plate on the floor with a mix of guilt and mischief.
"Sorry, mommy. Sorry, daddy." He says in a sweet innocent voice.
I look at Dylan with my eyebrows raised. He's gonna crack. He looks at me with puppy eyes and I roll my eyes. He's definitely going to crack.
"It's okay son. Just don't do it again."
He cracked.
Dylan takes the bags off me and hands them over to Derek who puts them in the kitchen. Daisy takes off my jacket and hangs it up. Charlotte sits me down and takes off my uggs.
It's like I can't do anything by myself anymore. Even at work, I constantly have Blake, Storm and Daisy looking on me every ten minutes. I would always scowl and they would smirk and walk away.
