My plane landed in the morning and I got directions to the train station. I found it easily and looked at my directions again. “Platform nine and three quarters? What the hell?” I muttered to my self.

“Excuse me, are you Natalie?” A girl who looked exactly like me was standing in front of me. My eyes widened and my mouth fell open.

“Yes, indeed you are. Americans have such horrible manners.” She stated. I closed my mouth but still starred at her. “You’re! No way! It can’t be!” I almost shouted.

“Oh stop it. Yes, I am Monica. Mum and Dad said you were coming. Come on, can’t be late. The train leaves at eleven and it’s already five of!” She grabbed my wrist and pulled me along. I dragged my luggage and had my carry on bag over my shoulder.

“Where are we going?” I asked. “Platform 9 and ¾.” She sounded annoyed so I shut up. She stopped in front of a brick wall. “Come on, I’ll show you how. Just do what I do.” She dropped my hand and ran at the wall.

“Monica!” I yelled. She ran into the wall and was gone. What the hell!? I did what she said though. I shrugged and ran at the wall. I braced myself for impact but didn’t hit the wall. Instead I hit someone’s back. “Sorry.” I said.

“Come on.” Monica said. I looked around and saw a sign that had our platform number on it. Wow. The train was waiting right there. We got on and went to a compartment where I put my luggage on a shelf. I couldn’t believe I was in England and was going to Scotland.

Monica sat down and looked out her window. It seemed as if we were the only ones around. As soon as she sat the train started to move and blow its whistle. I sat down across from her and looked out the window.

“So… I guess we have a lot to catch up on? Right?” I tried to start a conversation with my double.

“No.” She said sternly. I rolled my eyes. “Someone’s got her panties in a bunch.” I muttered. “What?” She asked. “Never mind. We need to talk.” She said again. I nodded, confused.

“All of your books are already at Hogwarts. I’ve done the hard work for you. I’ve copied all of my notes for you so you don’t have to start from scratch. And I think I should be the one who tells you about Hogwarts. Okay?” She had her hands clasped together in such a proper way.

“Alright. But, I guess I need to know how it works.” I shrugged a little.

“I’ll start with A’s. Azkaban is the prison for witches and wizards. You only go there if you’re someone like Bellatrix Lestrange, she is a murderer and a Death Eater. B’s. The most important one is broomsticks. They’re brooms that have magic power that lets a rider fly on them, obviously.  A Dark Mark is a large green skull and serpent in the sky. Dementors suck the happiness out of people. Hogwarts Express- the train that goes to Hogwarts. Hogwarts- the best wizarding school in the world. Um… we’ll stop there.” She said when I looked bored. “Tell me about how they keep the school organized, you know, with a lot of students.” I started to pay more attention then.

“Well, there are four houses. They divide the students into houses. Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. I’m in Gryffindor. Gryffindor and Slytherin clash quite a bit during the year. Each house has a common room and separate dormitories for boys and girls. Okay?” She finished. I nodded and she looked out the window.
