Alyssa’s P.O.V.
Oh, how many times I had to try to not cry in front of her but my tears kept coming out. Poor girl. When I told her that Queen Tana was her mother, her face dropped instantly, and she looked away quickly. It was hard for me too I lost a only person who loved me like I was her own daughter.
“Alyssa,” her cold voice brought me back, “You spoke about her with past tenses…. Is she dead?”
I actually had to pause for a moment to think about the question, I walked back to my chair, and sat down. I faced the wall, studying the paint on the wall that was peeling off.

**FLASHBACK**
My chubby rosy cheeks blushed when I looked at the Queen. I was sitting on a heavy red-wine rug by a roaring fireplace, practicing with my fire magic with my tiny hands. A flame barely appeared above my palm, it only puffed into a small smoke; I sighed. A soothing voice came out of her majesty mouth already gave me an courage to try and attempt the trick again.
“Alyssa, don’t hold your breath. Create a picture of a flame in your mind before releasing it through your palm.” Queen Tana instructed.
I smiled up at her, feeling proud to have her as my Witch Teacher, I scrunched my face as I held my palm up in front of me. My mind strained to keep a tiny flame bursting, it grew bigger that was when I decided to release my mind. I opened my eyes and gasped excitedly, there was a small alive fire warming up my palm.
I felt my body being lifted up as I was being pulled into a gentle embrace.
“I am proud of you, my little Alyssa.” She smiled her perfect pale lips down at me and I hugged her back. Her stomach was growing bigger every time I’ve seen her. “Your majesty, may I ask you a question?” My messy hair was being brushed through with her smooth slender fingers, “Yes my dear, you may.” Goosebumps danced down my spine, “Why is your tummy getting fat?” Before I could apologize for my rudeness, the Queen Tana laughed softly, “Oh you little adorable witch. I am pregnant, I am due in next month.” Her bright blond hair hung up in a loose bun, a few stray of hair curled perfectly down on her small face, she had the most beautiful emerald eyes. I admired her natural beauty so much, “Your majesty! That’s a wonderful news! What will you name your baby?”
I thought I saw a hint of sadness swept through the Queen Tana’s eyes as she gestured me to sit back down on the floor. “Alyssa, I have a request for you. This strictly stays between us, understood?” I nodded as she continued.

I snapped back to reality when a hand waved in my face, I blushed as I looked up at the girl with white dreadlocks standing beside my chair, “Ah, I’m sorry I just got lost in my thoughts. Ha Ha” I laughed weakly. She rolled her eyes, “So back to my question, is my…Mother still alive?” She hesitated when she said the word Mother.
I answered simply, “I honestly don’t know. She just disappeared in the air.”
Her eyebrows raised, I knew she wouldn’t accept my short answer, she opened her mouth as Davis barged in the room; he looked pissed. I smirked, “Hello Davis, how was your nap?”
“Y-you! I can’t believe you!” He angrily shouted at me. His black hair was soaked wet, dripping down on his also wet black hoodie, and he had a few throbbing veins stuck out through his forehead.
“I’m sorry! I had to knock you out, I just wanted to be alone with her for once without you breathing down on her neck!” I shot back.
Davis looked like he was about to yell his head off, his head was beet red, but he calmed down after I wiped off my tears from laughing so hard. “Whew..”
“So, did you tell her yet?”
“Tell me what?” She stood up with her hands curled into shaking fists.
I opened my mouth to begun but was being interrupted by the stupid dog.
“Your name.” Davis barked.
