"Please Joey. My mom is probably going to die,"I choked out,"Your dad will still be there,"Joey said,"Not if he never comes home from war."I added, and Joey shrugged,"There are orphanages."
"Joey!"I cried,"Please!"My ex-boyfriend took another step forward, about to strike. He hit me up against the wall, pressing the knife against my throat. I tried standing on my toes for some reason, which didn't work. He arm placed on my shoulder moved me up, so my feet weren't touching the ground anymore.
He hesitated. Which was a bad thing to do if he was trying to murder someone. A flash of blue and white knocked him down. I fell to the ground, breathing hard, and crying, watching as Seth ended up on top of Joey, landing punches square in the jaw, eye, top of the head, and then nose. To knock out my ex, he landed another punch on the jaw. Then made sure that Joey was unconscious, before standing up, and running towards me.
He kneeled down beside me. I looked into his eyes,"Oh my God,"He breathed,"That asshole,"He said, looking back at Joey after seeing the cut mark on the side of my head. He stood up, and helped me up, bringing me into an embrace. I was still sobbing.
He ran his hand down my hair, and then my back landing it's place on the small of my back.
We stood there for a little while before going to a worried Hannah."Oh my God, Sky!"She breathed, rushing towards me, and hugging me,"Where did you go?"She asked.
"J-joey,"I stuttered.
"Oh my God. That's it. You're coming home with me."She said. I looked over at Seth, who was looking at me, very concerned.

Hannah dabbed at the cut on the side of my head.
"Ow."It stung.
"Sorry!"Hannah cringed. She threw the bloody rag away,"All done!"She smiled. I hopped off the counter.
Seth looked at me, then at Hannah, who looked back at him, then towards me.
"I'm gonna go um... Wash my hands. I'd rather not get sick from blood germs."She said, smirking and walking up the stairs.
I hopped back up on the counter. My ankle hurt from hitting against the wall. We stood- I was sitting- there awkwardly, before he stepped forward, his lips planted on my mine. He lifted me off the counter, now holding me himself. Naturally, I wrapped my legs around him to hold myself up.
I pulled away, and he kissed the crook of my neck,"Seth,"I breathed."Promise me you'll never hurt me. Like Joey,"I said. He looked at me, his gaze soft."I promise."He whispered, leaning in for another kiss.

Seth had actually asked me on my first date with him. It was to the movies. Normally, I would think that going to the movies is a pretty lame date. I like to talk to the guy. But with Seth, I don't really need to talk. I've practically grown up with him. He knows almost everything about me.
"Mom!"I groaned for the fifth time. She was laying on my bed, thumbing through one of her magazines,"I don't have anything to wear!"I complained.
"You have a walk in closet full of clothes, Sky."Mom sighed, closing her magazine, and standing up. She walked over to my closet. Lying on the floor was a pair of leggings she picked up, and handed them to me, before going through all of my shirts, and finding a dark green shorter in the front, longer in the back shirt. Then she went through my shoes, finding my black boots."There."She said, pretending to dust her hands off.
"How you manage to do that in less than five minutes amazes me. You're my hero."I smiled. She left the room so I could get dressed. I curled my brown hair, and then grabbed my purse. I walked downstairs to where my mom answered the door.
Only one problem. It wasn't Seth. The man handed mom a letter, then walked away. Mom opened the envelope, reading the letters. She burst into tears, sitting down on the rocking chair, and dropping the letter.
I picked up the letter, reading the first few words.
We are so sorry for your loss of Rider Oliver Santiago.
I sat rereading the sentence. Over and over again. It was implanted in my mind. Mom had somewhat calmed herself, but still had a few tears dripping down her face. She wiped them off as she opened the door when the doorbell rang again. This time, it was Seth.
I was still on the floor, from where I collapsed. I shook myself into reality, and stuffed the letter into my purse, walking over to Seth."Bye mom,"I said in a quiet voice. She gave a slight wave, before closing the door. Seth led the way down to his car, and opened the door for me. He got in on the driver's side, and looked at me."Skylar?"He asked.
I looked through my window, tears starting to fall down my face."What happened?"He asked. I slipped the letter out of my purse, handing it to him. I didn't even look at his reaction. I just felt him place the paper on the seat right next to me, before turning the car on, and driving down the road. In the opposite direction of the movie theater.
