Priest pulls back the hammer of Fatebringer.
Toland. Don't make me shoot you.
Toland stands still.
He bends realities around him.
His light transcended.
Priest let me speak to him. I know all about him.
Toland starts.
I had finally made it to my feet.
Priest... It's okay, I say softly as I brush by him.
Toland opens his arms.
He embraces me.
Holds me.
For a moment. Almost makes me feel normal.
Like a father to a son.
I'm so sorry Toland... I whisper.
It's alright child... He says, cradling my head.
That Darkness wasn't normal.
Well none of it is.
It's all bad.
But this was so malicious.
So bloodthirsty and power hungry and forlorn.
Like it was crying to be the loudest.
I've been waiting for you. I was in there a long time. He says letting me stand up.
I don't understand, I say softly.
I was able to transcend death. But at a price. The Traveller knew of my commune with the Darkness. But at a cost, he says pacing softly around the chamber.
The Traveller placed me in a rift in time. And forced me to relive that same death over and over until the Darkness would rise anew and a fledgling Warlock would be brazen to seek me out.
I tilt my head slightly. So it was prophesied? I ask.
Yes. And that you would meet the Priest who is The Keeper of Time. All is as it should be. He says softly.
I had to take a moment. This was almost too much to take.
My mind was stimulated like nothing else.
I needed to focus.
How... How do you know? Like that it's me? I ask.
The Traveller guides me. He says softly.
How does the Traveller know? I ask bluntly.
Priest looks at me.
He talks in that fatherly voice like earlier.
The Traveller knows good Light. It created you with a purpose in mind. Don't cut yourself short. He says soft yet stark.
I peer back at him then look back at Toland.
I didn't have much else.
Maybe this was what I was searching for.
My purpose.
I couldn't deny my curiosity.
Okay... Okay okay okay... I say as I reach for my helmet.
My Ghost had healed me. My stomach was settled. Then where do we go next?
Toland cocked his head slightly.
I am not entirely sure what is there. But my visions told me to take my next step at the world of Water.
Neptune? Priest says.
I look at him.
No ones been to Neptune in centuries. He says.
Then we'll blaze a new path, I say as if rallying.
You don't have to come Priest. You've helped me more than you know already. I say thankful.
This would be dangerous.
I knew him capable but I didn't want to be responsible for more deaths than I had been already.
As if I'm staying. He says almost giddy.
This is gonna be fuckin awesome. He barks.
I look at Toland.
I can't come Warlock. He says softly.
Why? I say not worried. But as if our time was cut short too soon.
I wanted to talk with him. A master.
Perhaps I would again one day.
I'm a guide to those who need it. The Traveller has other things in mind for me. He smiles.
Then we wish you well Master Toland. Traveler guide you. I say almost sadly.
He nods and opens another portal and disappears.
So now The Tower? Priest asks.
Yeah. I say holding my Ghost.
I need to talk to Cayde. I say as if I have a plan.
