My First Love

Chapter 3

Tyler's POV.
The first day in the new house was great. We met neighbors very cute neighbors, if you know what I mean. I had been daydreaming about Jewel when my mom broke me out of my trance.

"Hey, we don't have all night come on get to cleaning," she said grabbing a few more plates. We were cleaning up from the dinner that we just had. I picked up some plates and cups and took them to the kitchen.

"You seem distracted, are you thinking about Jewel?" My mom asked washing off a plate.

"What no, I was just thinking about what I was going to do tomorrow," I said giving her another plate.

"Ahh right, well your father and I are going to spend the day out in the town," she said drying off he hands and then handing me the rag.

"We'll have fun, I'm going to go to bed now so see ya later tomorrow I guess," I said putting the rag down and heading towards my room.

I went into my room and shut the door. I threw my shirt off and put on some basket ball shorts.   I went over to my bed and plopped down. I stared at the ceiling thinking about what k should do tomorrow. 'Should I explore the house? Go to the town with my parents? Go explore the woods? Or see if I can get to know Jewel more?' I kept think up ideas until I had finally fallen asleep.

I woke up to the sun shining  in my room and birds chirping. I took a look at the time on my phone 6:30. Well I guess that's one good thing about living near the forest, I'll never be late to school. I sat up in my bed and ran my fingers through my hair.

I jumped out of bed and into the shower. I then got out and just messed with my hair a little. I decided that I would go for a jog out in the forests behind my house. I went back into my room and threw on a pair of different basket ball shorts with a black tank top. I then grabbed my phone and my earbuds and ran down the stairs. I made my way to the kitchen and quickly ate a banana before my run. Once I finished the banana I went out the back door, I put my earbuds in and started to run.

I didn't know where I was going just running so I and my fun with it I went around the trees and jumped over the logs. I decided to take a quick little break I found a nice flat rock that looked like a chair so I took a seat. It was the perfect break because while I was sitting down the song that I liked at the time came on. "I don't like it I love it" and so I just sat there until it was done.

Once it finished I hopped off the Rock and looked back. I could still see my house but it was small now. I turned back around and started to run again.

I took a look at my phone to check the time when I hit something and fell down to the floor with a thud. At first I thought that I had hit a rock or a tree stump. But then I heard a voice that I could never forget.

"I am so sorry I should've been watching where I was going," Jewel said

"No, no it's my fault I should've been watching to," I said as I got up and put my hand out to help Jewel up. She took my hand and got back up onto her feet.

"Oh you have cut down your leg," she said pointing to the cut. I liked down and noticed the cut for myself. It was pretty bad but I just played it off like it was a scratch.

"Oh look at that," I said still looking down.

"Here let me bandage it up for you," she said.

"No, no I'm fine. Really," I said standing up to prove it to her.

"I don't care if you can walk or stand on it, I care if it gets infected," she said pointing out all the dirt on it. "Now come on," she said with a small wave of the hand. She called for Kaiden and he came back with a handful of berries.

"What," he said stuffing some in his mouth.

"I'm going to clean up Tyler. Would you please run back to the house and get the first aid kit ready for me?" She asked him.

"We can do it at my house, if that's ok with you?" I suggested.

"Ok, then go wait for me to come back," she said shooing him away.

We headed to my house and came in through the back door.

"Have seat on the chair," she said. "So where is your first aid kit?"she asked me.

"It's in a box marked first aid supplies," I said pointing towards all the boxes. Since we had just moved in nothing was unpacked. I saw her searching around until I heard an "ah ha, found it," she said turning and then walking towards me.

"Ok this might sting a little," she said grabbing the hydrogen peroxide and pouring some onto a rag. She then took the rag and softly rubbed away all the dirt and then cleaned out the wound.

"Your really good at this," I said looking down towards where she was wrapped my leg up.

"Well I guess when you live with an accident prone brother, you become an expert," she said finishing up the wrap. "All good," she said standing up from the chair.

"Thanks," I said.

"Your welcome," she replied." I better head home," she said heading towards the door.

"Wait, do you know these forests well?" I asked her.

"Ya, why?" She asked.

"Well if you wouldn't mind would you like to just take a walk through the woods, if you don't want to that's totally fine," I asked her. 'Did it sound like I was asking her out?'

"I'd love to, I know some beautiful spots and some great spots for swimming although you probably won't be able to do the swimming part," she said pointing to my bandaged leg.

"I think I can handle a little water after all I am a big boy you know," I said puffing my chest out to show I was strong. She laughed a little.

"Yes you are," she said.

"So I'll see you tomorrow, by the way you can bring Kaiden to if you want," I added.

"Ya see you tomorrow and I'll check with him, bye," she said with a little smile and then walked out the door and towards her house.

I took a seat back in the chair when I noticed that she had left her phone in the table next to the first aid kit. I better return this to her. But then I had a brilliant idea. I'll give it to her later tonight. I put the phone in my pocket and went up to my room to start unpacking things.
