Why did she jump?

I told mum im going to school today but i don't want to go so im heading to the library to do some research.

I can't find anything, maybe ill ask her neighbours? Someone has to know somthing.

As im leaving i bump into someone but when i look up they are gone so i ignore it.

I get to rorys mums street and see an old lady next door to karens house. I would say rorys but our tree house was her home.

"Hello, sorry to bother you but i was just wondering if you new the girl that lived next door?" i asked nervously looking everywhere making sure her mum isn't around.

"Oh Rory yes, she was such a lovely girl. Always so nice to me even sometimes baked with me when she was younger. Are you her friend? " shes says in one of the most quietist way possible.

I was just able to hear her, thanks to my super sonic hearing.

"Yeah, i was just wondering if you new her family? if so may we please talk inside " i nervously ask looking everywhere.

"Yeah sure darling right this way, i just made some freashly baked cookies if you would like some they were rorys favourite".

"Oh yes please thank you so much. Mhmm, they smell delicious " i reply licking my lips.

"So what was it you would like to talk about dear?"she says giving me a suspicious stare.

"Oh yeah i was just wondering if you remember if rory had an older brother? its just that i was approached by someone yesterday saying he was her brother but the thing is i have never known her to have one my whole 14 years of knowing her ".

"Hmmm a brother,have you asked her mother. Actually i do recall a little boy who lived there once upon a time, he would always sit outside lonley while his family were inside having family time . I would feel sorry for the poor chap i just guess with a new baby around you sorta feel left out ".

"Oh so its true. do you know his name? i forgot to ask him but i was in a rush so i sort of ended the conversation " i ask whilst lying my butt off.

"Hmm not really it was years ago. Actually i just remembered i have a photo of him, rory gave me a photo with her and her brother in a card when she was four. would you like to see it".

"Oh yes please thankyou for these cookies they are delicious" i say greedily filling my mouth with some more.

"Here it is, Naw she was so cute and so was her brother she looked like she adored him in this photo and he looked like a typical brother trying to get his anoying sister away".

"Oh they look adorable. Wow she was so young i cant believe she is gone. Any chance i can have a drink please? im sorry for being a burden and all i have a little bit of a dry throat ".

"Sure dear its no bother i like a little company now and then" she replys walking toward the kitchen.

As she was getting me a drink, i pull out my phone and take a photo of the picture whilst observing outside.

Oh crap! her mothers home i have to go.

"Here we go love, a nice cup of homemade lemonade ".

"Oh wow thankyou so much" i say downing the drink as fast as possible.

"Wow that was delicious but i have to be getting home now i forgot i have guests coming over. thank you so much once again mrs-uhh".

"Oh thats okay dear and call me lily oh and here take a couple more cookies home, i dont need them ".

"Yay thank you lily, my names cairo it was lovely meeting you have a good night " i say walking out the door with the scrumptious cookies.

As im walking out the gate, i feel guilty lying to her but i needed answers.

All of a sudden i bump into rorys mum.

"Your Rorys friend right? im karen her mum. I had no idea she had friends. What are you doing around this area anyway, i've never seen you before around here ".

Just as the last word came out her mouth i try to take off running before being stopped by two bulky guys.

"Where you going? i just wanted a lil chat with my daughters best friend" she evily says.

"I.. i.. i was just seeing lily your next door neighbour she used to give me and rory cookies as children. We would always go there after school " i quickly say stuttering at first.

"Look listen here you lying dirtbag! i don't know what Rory has told you about me or what you are doing poking around here but i suggest you bugger off!" she angrily spits out.

"I..i..i dont know what your talking about? ".

"Cut the bullshit lil lady i seen you give me a shitty look at the funeral and if any cops  come to my door step or anything comes up about me there will be hell to pay you got that!" she threatens pushing me to the ground in the process.

I get up and sprint as fast as i can away.

Wow she is more scarier than i thought.

Ill still get her back though even though i almost pissed myself back there, what am i getting my self into?

Hey wait a minute theres a note hanging out my bag i see almost falling out.

How the hell did this get there? it cant of been those men or her mum, i would have seen.

Oh shit it had to have been the libary when someone bumped into me i completly forgot i was on constant watch.

what on earth am i doing?
