Jaq's POV
I spent the night in Shane's tent again. The night before was amazing. Shane showed me how to have fun and enjoy life, which is rare nowadays.
Right now, I was preparing to go out on a run with Shane to a house Hershel said had many medical supplies. The house belonged to a doctor who was killed in the riots.
Chance sat near me with a pout on his face. I shrugged. "Sorry buddy. Not this time. I'll see ya soon."
Shane walked by and pat his head. "Later buddy." He looked at me. "Ready?"
I nodded and we drove off.

The car ride with Shane was nice and peaceful. We both talked about anything that came to mind. At one point we were talking about a time when Chance tore up my curtains and couch. He looked so guilty about what happened. Shane was laughing. "How old was he when he did that?"
I sighed happily. "Meh, about 9 months. "
"Wow." Shane continued to chuckled. "How old is he now?"
"He's 8 years old now. My mom got him for me for my 18th birthday. I cried when I realized he was for me." I looked over the road ahead. "So how far to the house that Hershel talked about?"
"Well we've been driving a good 10 minutes. Not long I bet."
I nodded and liked out the window to watch the scenery pass. The nature was beautiful. I've always loved the woods. Then I saw something through the trees. I narrowed my eyes to look closer, and when a second road came up I saw a small town.
"Shane stop!"
He slammed on the brakes and looked at me in alarm. "What?!"
I pointed to the town. "Look. Maybe we can get some supplies from there instead."
Shane gave me an 'are you kidding me' look which I just smiled at. "Don't do that. Ya nearly gave me a heart attack."
I chuckled. "Meh, your fine. So you wanna?"
Shane looked passed me at the town and shrugged. "Beats going to the house. We're here anyway."
Shane turned the car and drove to the small town. There was no sign of danger, but I knew we still had to be cautious. Anything can happen in this world.
When the car stopped, I got out and walked ahead. Shane stood next to me. "How'd ya wanna do this?" He asked me.
"We could split up. Cover more ground. I'll take the east, you the west."
Before I could walk, Shane grabbed my arm. "I don't like that. If we split up we can't cover each other. And I don't like the idea of you going alone."
"Well, we need to get the supplies and I want to be back at the farm before dusk."
Shane sighed and rubbed his head. "Fine. Just... Be careful."
"You too."
With that, I pecked his lips and we both split up and stared searching the the building. My first stop was a 7/11. I could still see some snacks that I hope aren't expired. I stepped through the broken glass door with stealth. I took my backpack off and unzipped it. Smiling when I saw that none of the snacks were expired, I started stuffing my bag with everything. I made sure to get a lot of twinkies for the kids. I also saw bottled waters and packed them too.
