When I could see Oswald pull up from outside, I sighed. I didn't want to go. I really, didn't want to go. And it wasn't even because of Oswald. Honestly, because of my own problems.

I got almost no sleep the night before, not to mention my anxiety was on the fritz. You see, today was actually a busy day. We most of the time have about twenty to thirty people around the hour at most. Today, we had about a hundred people come in. Safe to say, I didn't ask for the day off like he wanted me to.

But he walked in anyway, coughing to make himself apparent.

" I'm sorry Oswald but I'm going to have to cancel on your party. " I told him right away, without even looking up from the dishes I had been washing. I could hear him huff and puff from afar.

" Lyla, you have made me a very, very angry man. " he replied, changing the subject. He slammed his fist on the table. I this time looked up.

" Don't you have plenty of people to go party with? " he walked back to the kitchen, angrily stomping.

" You're disrespecting me. "

" And you're a narcissist. " I spoke without a hint of regret in my voice now, unlike when I had first met him. Because I guess a lot changed since I first met him. But then again, I was guessing.

He slammed his hand down on a nearby table again as he followed me. While he was throwing a walking hissy fit I was collecting dirty plates and almost empty drinks.

" Lyla. Come. with. me. "

" I am not going to that party. "

" Lilly...Come. with. me. "

" I'm not-- "

" I know. " he put up a hand, interrupting me. " But it's important. More important than doing dishes in here all alone. " he took the hand he had been holding up to me, and instead held it out towards me. I dried my hands on a towel, then took his hand. I could hear him chuckle as he yanked me closer to him.

" You're very pretty. " he spoke slowly as I was now concerned. What the hell did he want with me in the first place? He slowly slid his hand to my wrist, getting a steady grip on me.

" Thanks. " I scoffed back. He wasn't amused. Without letting go of my hand, he turned around and started walking--dragging me along with him. " Hey! I told you I'm not going! " I tried to struggle from his grasp but it only became tighter.

" The party was canceled anyway. " he spoke without looking at me, which only made this worse.  Eventually when he had managed to pull me outside, he turned around to me, still clutching my wrist. He laughed more, loosening his hand from my wrist onto my hand. We were about half a mile away from the restaurant.

" You really are whole lot of fun, Lyla. " he told me as he pulled me into a warm embrace and kissed my lips. My eyes were wide open, obviously. But then I could hear a loud explosion from behind us. I gasped, pulling away from him and turning around.

" WHAT THE HELL!? "

he only laughed.
