~chapter 1~

Jennifer's POV:

I was wide awake now. The nurse walked in, she looked like she had some trouble waking up this morning but was still smiling. "How are you feeling today Ms.Elizabeth?"

"Like shit...again and Elizabeth is fine, you don't to call me miss" I said with a bored expression.

"I had no idea you had that kind of..." She pause trying to find the correct word "language"

"Yeah. Neither did I. Can I go look in a Mirror? I forgot how I look"

"I'm sorry but I don't have orders of letting you stand up already but I can get you a pocket mirror, would that be alright?"

"Sure, better than nothing I guess" she nodded then walked out. I looked down at my body, and noticed that I'm really skinny and fragile.

The nurse came back with a small mirror on her hand, an handed it to me. When I looked at myself I was kind of surprised. My brunette hair was a complete mess even thought most of it was wrapped in a huge band and I had a tired expression in my face. The huge bags under my big hazel eyes didn't help. But somehow I managed to look ok. I must admit I'm kind of good looking. "You're a beautiful girl, no wonder that young man has been going crazy out there"

"Who? Is that the guy I'm supposed to be engaged to?"

"I believe so. He has been sitting in the waiting room since last night when he found out you woke up"

"Is he good looking?"

"He's pretty handsome alright"

"When can I see him?"

"Well in about 20 minutes but I'm just going to give you a tip, no kissing or stuff like that or the doctor is not going to let him see in a while" I smiled, I kind of like this woman.

"Ok, but im pretty sure nothing's going to happen" she nodded then started to walk away.

"Wait" i said as she reached the door. She turned and looked at me "you haven't told me your name"

I saw as crystal (the nurse) walked through the door with a tall guy that looked around my age. His blue eyes were watery and a shy smile was painted in hi face.

Pretty handsome? Oh hell no this guy was just plain beautiful.

He walked over to me and say on the chair next to the bed.He looked like he wanted to tell me a million thing but didn't know where to start. "Hi"

Whoa even his voice sounds heavenly.

"Hey" that was it the tears that he has been holding back since he came inside came down his cheek so fast that I couldn't even count them. "D-don't cry I'm fine, see look at me. I'm alive" that was the only thing I could think of.

"But you don't remember me"

"So? That doesn't mean I never will"

"But what If you don't?" My face went optimist to depressed in a matter of seconds "then I guess we'll have to start over"

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have left you house that day. I would've have saved you" he said looking down.  

"You were with me that night?"

"Yes. We went to a restaurant and after you said that we could go to your house and watch a movie or some thing. After the movie you told me to sleep over but I left because I had stuff to do. Then that bastard went in your house and shoot you. It's all my fault" now there were more tears flowing down his cheek.

"No its not you didn't know the was going to happen, I don't blame you and you shouldn't blame yourself either."

"But-"

"No buts. Lets change the topic"

"Umm... Oh yeah I almost forgot your parents are on their way they'll probably be here in a couple of hours"

"Where do they live?"

"Florida" he smiled, damn this guy has a beautiful smile.

"I like your smile" oh fuck, more tears what can I say that won't make him cry.

"You used to tell me that all the time..."

"Oh..."There was an awkward silence now. "Are we still getting married?" He asked hopefully.

"I don't know. You seem like a really nice guy but I can't just marry somebody I don't remember. im just getting use to being awake this isn't easy, not remembering shit. But if he makes you feel better the therapist said that there's a chance that I will remember. So I can be the same again." I said sadly.

"But what if I make you fall in love with me again?"

"I think that's a hard task, I'm kind of freaked out give me sometime okay? But if I fall in love again i'll marry you" I said but this time with I smile.

"Pinky promise?"he said hold out his pinky. I wrapped my pinky around his tightly.

"pinky promise"

"Then challenge accepted" I heard the door open slowly and different nurse walked in. She was skinny and not very tall. She had her blonde hair tied up in a bun.

"Excuse me, it's time to go I know you guys have a lot to talk about but somebody else wants to see Ms.Elizabeth"

"Who?" I asked curiously.

"A girl named Catherine"

I looked at Alex "do you know anyone name Catherine?"

"Of course I do that's just best friend, she's like your sister"

"Oh " he gave me a beautiful half smile and I felt the blush form on my cheeks. Then he tried to give me a kiss on the forehead but i backed away back . He seamed sad "im sorry but it's that-" he cut me off

"it's okay that was a bad idea" then without another word he walked out.
