Lifting the heavy moving box out of the truck Alison headed towards their new home. large trucks lined the road by the side walk, in front of their house. It was day two of unloading their packed away things. Their new house was beautiful, Two stories with multiple windows on the bottom and top.

The light brown wooden front door complemented the rest of the house with a tiny cute window in the middle, that had a fancy swirl design on it.

Two tall tress in the front were on each side of the house, with pretty multi colored bricks making a circle around them.

The grass looked very well taken care of, as though someone had just trimmed it. Alison couldn't stop looking at it, it looked like a rich persons house.

Taking in a fresh breathe of air Alison closed her eyes, enjoying the cool breeze the wind gave, gently blowing her dark hair with it.

The weather was different then from what Alison was used to, Some-day's it was just right and other day's it was too windy. The climate back home was always hot. The weather was one thing she was grateful for, no more exhausting hot days, and sweating like a sick person.

Stepping into the house, her Stepmother stood directing the moving workers where to put the boxes, following after them with irritation she made sure they put it in the right spot. It was always that way since she was little, Vivian was always over controlling, and telling anyone who she felt power over what to do, except for when Dad was around, only then would she not act so controlling.

Vivian spotted Alison bringing boxes in from across the room, with a suspicious smile she spoke "Follow me, I'll show you your room" Something was off, she seemed to happy to show her, her knew room. Alison wished someone would come and ask where they were suppose to put stuff, but to her dismay no one came their way, as they made their way further up the stairs.

Getting further and further away from everyone, Alison felt a shiver down her spine, she knew nothing really bad could happen, but just being with the woman was enough to make her uneasy.

Vivian placed her hand on the rail as she made her way was the stairs. Turning to the right they past three big rooms, all with dark colored carpets and white walls. Glancing over the rail, the living room was filled with people going about and putting things in their rightful place.

As they continued to pass all the rooms, and headed to the end, Alison couldn't help but to wonder where they were going.

Turning to the left Vivian lead the way up a couple more stairs, then opened up an old wooden door in front of them, the door squeaked as it slowly opened to a room.

"So what do you think? I picked this room out just for you" Vivian smiled darkly. Playing with her blonde hair she continued. "Your lucky you get this, my other choice was the garage.  Although that wouldn't have worked out anyway" Her expression was twisted "What would I have done with my beautiful car?"

Alison took a step forward passing her step mother, walking into the room she looked around, it was small, with a big window in to the right. Alison was silent to her Stepmothers remark. Her room was the Attic? The carpet had stains on it in places, and the walls were white like the others.

Shutting the door Vivian left her alone, not really caring what she had to say. Was this her way of belittling her? Setting the box she was holding in her hands down in the corner of the room, she let herfelf fall to the floor, holding back threatening tears Alison patted her checks, she couldn't cry, not right now, she had to get back down stairs and help carry things in.

getting back up she tried to gain back her composure, wiping off her blue jeans she headed back down stairs.

Audrey sat in the passenger set of her mothers car, texting. Alison couldn't understand how her thumbs didn't hurt from it all. If she was awake, her phone was in her hand and she was texting her friends, all day.
