Waking up to the feeling of a foot kicking her back, Alison turned around on her other side, pulling the blankets with. Looking up, she blinked her eyes to adjust to the bright room. Audrey was standing beside her makeshift bed on the floor. Leaning all her weight on one leg, she crossed her arms, placing a nasty look on her face.

Alison rubbed her tired eyes, then hesitantly focused her attention on her Stepsister  "What? is it already time to get ready for school?" Alison asked, trying to figure out why Audrey was bothering to wake her up, although she knew that, that was most likely not the reason. She was sure her Stepsister probably had something else in mind.

"Yes, but that's not the reason why I woke you"Audrey spat, Looking down at her nails she robbed her thumb across each one.

"The other day at school, who was that guy you where with?" The determination and disgust on her face, looked as though she was interrogating a dirty criminal, and trying to get all the information she could from them.

Alison sat on the floor and leaned against the wall. She knew no matter what she told her Stepsister, she wouldn't be happy, the truth was the best choice. "He was just some guy the Teacher instructed to show me around the school, that's it" Alison tried to say in her most convincing voice.

"Oh really? a cute guy like that and all he did was show you around the school?" She turned her head the other way, about to leave, then quickly looked back in horror, as though she had left out something important. "he didn't hit on you or anything did he?"

"Uh,  Yes, and no." Was she really that scared of her being a threat, for just getting a little attention? it wasn't even his choice, the teacher told him to show her around.

"Yes and no, what does that mean? Don't play games with me, you know I hate it when you do that" Audrey asked as she grabbed a pillow, she swung it over her shoulder getting ready to hit hrt. Sitting calmly and staring back up at her, Alison gave her a dumbstruck look.

"Yes he showed me around, no he didn't hit on me unless you think showing me where my locker is, is being flirtatious, then yeah, he was, he even showed me where the math class was." At Alison's response, Audrey threw the pillow back onto the bed giving her a dirty look.

"Huh, your right, why would anyone hit on you? But I still don't approve. When I am around, or even when I am not" Flipping her hair in the air as she always did, she held her head high with unbelievable confidence.

Brushing off her Stepsisters words Alison got up from the floor, and headed to the bathroom to get ready for school, passing her Stepsister standing in the middle of the room. Audrey called after her. "Hey! I am not done talking to you yet!" Alison didn't want to hear what ever else she had to say, it wasn't going to be anything nice anyway.

Grabbing her bag of clothes Alison went into the bathroom, shutting the door behind her.

"Come on Alison, you are going to make us late for school" Audrey yelled impatiently, pounding on the bathroom door.

As Alison opened her locker Conner called from behind. Coming up he leaned on the locker door beside hers, crossing his arms, he asked "Shall we continue the tour after school today?" His cheerful voice and genuine smile, seemed to make her lose her thoughts.

Taking a step back, she tried to gather herself, his nearness made her uncomfortable. He had just met her and yet he was acting so friendly, like they were best buddies just having a normal conversation.

"Uh," Unable to answer, Alison wasn't sure how she felt about him showing her around, having to spend time with him, and interact with someone. She was so closed off and so guarded, it scared her to say yes.
